Whenever fall rolls around and the leaves begin to change, I always find myself thinking about the past summer and all of the things I have to be grateful for. This year is no different.
First, I want to express my thanks to you, our amazing campers, for sharing your adventures with us. In truth, the best part of my job is getting out there to shake hands and personally meet as many campers as I can.
In addition, as I talked with many of our campground owners at our annual KOA convention last week, I heard fantastic stories about the guests who stayed with them and the impact they made. It was moving to hear about the many family reunions, weddings and special events our campers allowed us to share with them.
I am also grateful for our campground owners and managers who are working hard every day to deliver the KOA experience. So many show such a strong commitment to the work they do and the campers they serve; we wouldn’t be able to provide the great experiences we do all over North America without them.
We have some amazing partner companies that I am grateful to have the chance to work with as well. Having the opportunity to team with companies like Keystone, Coleman, Progressive, Jelly Belly, Oscar Meyer, REI and so many others is a real privilege. It also ensures that we can bring the best opportunities to you our camping guests.
Of particular excitement to me was having the chance to support the Great American Backyard Campout sponsored by the National Wildlife Federation, KOA and REI. Together, we encouraged campers of every age to get outside and enjoy the great outdoors, which is something I cannot emphasize enough. This message is one, which goes hand in hand with the mission and philosophy of the Boy Scouts of America, an organization I am honored to be a part of.
Finally, I would be remiss if I did not share my immense gratitude for my wife and sons. They are my biggest supporters and make my life a wonderful one. I am sure that you are equally thankful for your family and friends.
