Music and summer go hand in hand. Whether you blast some tunes on the drive to your next summer destination, rock out on your earbuds during a hike, or turn the stereo on around the campfire, a great summer camping playlist is vital. Easy lyrics to sing along with and catchy beats are always important for jamming out during the summer and these songs deliver.
Make sure to add these songs to your summer camping playlist and you’ll be ready to have a great soundtrack for your summer recreation. Just don’t blame me if any of them get stuck in your head all day long!
Mark Ronson- Uptown Funk feat. Bruno Mars
This song needs no introduction. It’s currently one of the most popular songs on the radio, internet, Spotify, iTunes…you name it and it is right at the top of the list. Not only does it have a beat that you just can’t help but tap your foot (or break out into full on dancing) to, but it also has mass appeal. It truly is a genre crossing hit and everyone along for the ride on your next summer camping trip is sure to enjoy it.
Andy Grammer- Honey, I’m Good
This song first came out last December, but it definitely should have been released as a summer jam. It has a catchy rhythm that you can’t help but smile to when you hear it. This is a great song to blast with the windows down on the highway and all your friends in the car as you zoom off (obeying traffic laws of course!) to the beach or for a hike in the woods. Bonus points if done while in a convertible!
Luke Bryan- Kick the Dust Up
While country music isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, it continues to be an evolving genre that is appealing to more and more people. Country summer hits may not win any awards for creative writing or unique subject matter, but that doesn’t mean that they aren’t fun to listen to and groove along with. Simple lyrics and relatable subject matter make country hits like this one by Luke Bryan perfect for blasting during a summer barbeque, road trip, or camping trip.
WALK THE MOON- Shut up and Dance
This song, as the title suggests, is just what the doctor ordered when dancing is required. The catchy beat and fun rhythm make this song hard to sit through without hitting the dancefloor (or in our case the grass next to the campfire) when it starts coming from your speakers.
By all means, do not let this list define your summer camping playlist. Pull out some of your old favorites from summers past, some of those older tunes that just don’t seem to ever get old (Mungo Jerry anyone?) or just pull up your favorite Pandora station and jam to whatever random songs comes up next. Whatever you do, just make sure that your summer camping playlist is ready to go for when the weather heats up!
