Located right on the beach, the Cape Charles / Chesapeake Bay KOA offers guests a truly unique camping experience.
If you’re looking for a beach vacation on the Eastern Seaboard, look no further than the Cape Charles / Chesapeake Bay KOA outside of beautiful Cape Charles, Virginia. A truly modern RV and camping experience awaits at a campground that feels like paradise.
“The Cape Charles / Chesapeake Bay KOA is an absolutely beautiful location, and provides our KOA guests with yet another wonderful place to enjoy their camping lifestyle,” said KOA President and CEO Pat Hittmeier. “There is nothing like the Chesapeake Bay, and this park offers just the type of experience our campers love.”
The campground is by far the premiere camping location on Chesapeake Bay, with its own private beach and surrounded by a 1,700-acre National Wildlife Refuge. Campers can enjoy one of the only locations on the East Coast where you can watch the sun set on the water.
At this KOA guests will find 316 full-service, 50-amp sites, along with seven Deluxe Cabins and five luxurious safari-style “glamping” tents. The campground also has the Jackspot Bar and Grill, a full-service restaurant right on the beach.
The Cape Charles / Chesapeake Bay KOA is also extremely pet friendly. The north end of the campground’s beach area is “reserved” as an off-leash area for dogs and owners to play on the sand and in the water. There’s even an off-leash dog park at the Resort.
Also at the campground location is the 71-room Sunset Beach Hotel & Beach Club, which offers both standard hotel rooms as well as suites. The hotel and the campground are owned and operated by Blue Water Development of West Ocean City, Maryland.
“First and foremost, we’re incredibly proud to be the first KOA on the Chesapeake Bay, in addition to adding another unique camping experience to the rapidly growing portfolio along the east coast,” said Blue Water Development founder Todd Burbage. “Our partnership with KOA has been tremendous. Their knowledge and expertise help create a smooth guest experience, from booking to stay, and that has been invaluable to us as we are committed to learning new ways to establish quality contact with our campers that result in a long-lasting relationship.”
