These awesome new KOA campgrounds need to be on your list this year.
Every year, new campgrounds join the Kampgrounds of America family of campgrounds expanding our system across the United States and Canada. This year’s KOA Directory, releasing in March, will feature over 500 KOA campgrounds for you to visit including many brand new KOA locations throughout North America. With so many new places to explore, we introduce you to some of these new KOA campgrounds below. Learn about the rest of these great new KOA campgrounds in this post from last month and plan a summer road trip or two.
Temecula / Vail Lake KOA
This new southern California escape has almost everything a camper could ever need. The Temecula / Vail Lake KOA sits on 385 acres of premium recreation space and features 467 campsites and more than 200 acres of world-class hiking and mountain bike trails. Specializing in recreation, this campground has something for guests of all ages. Enjoy a 25-meter lap pool, kids’ wading pool and a full sized leisure swimming pool. You’ll also find other outdoor activities including disc golf, pickleball courts, basketball courts, an 18 hole mini golf course and more. Families will love the summer activities and themed weekends. Groups will love the comfortable facilities for festivals, mountain bike races and other events. Stop by and grab a bite at the seasonal Cafe and Bar. With so many great activities and amenities, you won’t want to leave this oak-shaded campground.
Salida / Mt. Shavano KOA
High in the Rockies between the appealing mountain town of Salida and the Continental Divide, the Salida / Mt. Shavano KOA is the perfect spot for high country recreation. Campers will be captivated by the views of Salida, surrounding national forests and mountain peaks. You’ll discover adventure in every direction! Mt. Shavano (one of Colorado’s famed “fourteeners”) rises up north of this KOA; trails wind through wildflower meadows and all the way to the summit. From the campground, Highway 50 provides a scenic drive, climbing west for about 13 miles to Monarch Pass, where an aerial tram climbs even higher, up to 12,000 feet. Your camp hosts can offer suggestions for mountain biking trails, fly-fishing hot spots and world-class whitewater rafting trips. Salida has plenty to offer too, with its unique shopping, dining and one-of-a-kind arts district.
Indiana Beach / Monticello KOA
Camping means lakeside living at this new KOA located within the Indiana Beach Amusement & Water Park Resort and just steps away from central Indiana’s beautiful Lake Shafer. Make the most of every minute at the Indiana Beach / Monticello KOA with a boat ramp, swimming pool, splash pad, mini golf, basketball court, fishing, three playgrounds and more. When you’re ready for a break, you’ll find accommodations to suit your style with Camping Cabins, Deluxe Cabins and RV Sites ideal for large RVs, fifth wheels, pop-ups and tents. In season, check out the additional campground activities as well as discounted tickets to Indiana Beach Amusement & Water Park, where you’ll find thrill rides, water slides, a boardwalk and live music.
Boyer Park & Marina / Snake River KOA
If you are looking for waterfront camping in eastern Washington then look no further! Boyer Park & Marina KOA boasts 61 beautiful paved RV Sites, Camping Cabins, and Tent Sites along the Snake River in a picture perfect park like setting. Featuring a marina with boat docks right on site, you’ll be able to fuel up and hit the river in no time. If your prefer to stay on land, take the well-maintained walking path along the river to enjoy stunning views of the gorge and Lower Granite Dam. This campground also has a convenient restaurant and store to meet all your camping needs. Don’t forget to visit the sandy beach area for a little bit of relaxation!
Dodge City KOA
This beautiful new KOA features great ways to stay no matter how you like to camp. Pull in to the Dodge City KOA in your RV, enjoy one of 10 beautiful cabins or set up a tent. Gather as a group in one of two beautiful covered pavilions or visit the dog run or dog park with your furry friend. Conveniently located in Dodge City’s Historic District, you’ll be just a short walk from historic Boot Hill, charming shops and delicious restaurants and cafes. This campground is also located right next to Long Branch Lagoon water park, a beautiful city park and a free zoo. Good luck getting bored here!
Lake of the Ozarks / Linn Creek KOA
This open all year campground offers comfortable convenience at Lake of the Ozarks. Between Osage Beach and Camdenton, the Lake of the Ozarks / Linn Creek KOA is just moments from the many recreation opportunities of the area. Featuring large Pull Thru Sites, cabins, and tenting areas for families or groups, this campground offers something for everyone at this tree-filled campground. Try your hand at horseshoes, take a dip in the pool or stroll along one of the onsite hiking paths. This campground even offers convenient boat storage perfect for hitting the lake.
Seward KOA
Opening in the spring or 2019, Seward KOA is located near all the beauty and recreation of Exit Glacier. This campground on the banks of the Resurrection River is located conveniently near this glacial natural wonder. Big rig friendly Pull Thru Sites making settling in and heading out a breeze at this KOA. In addition to great onsite facilities, the campground is within walking distance of restaurants, bars and shops. Relax at this quite location surrounded by natural beauty.
