Every year, new campgrounds join the Kampgrounds of America Family of Campgrounds bringing more great camping experiences to the United States and Canada. This year’s KOA Directory features over 500 KOA campgrounds for you to visit including 11 brand new locations. With so many new places to explore, we introduce you to some of these new KOA campgrounds below. Learn more about these new KOA campgrounds and plan a summer road trip or two.
Harrison KOA
In the heart of the Ozarks, between Branson, MO and Eureka Springs, AR, you’ll find Harrison KOA. This campground is the perfect location to discover the beauty and thrills of the Ozark Mountains. Whether you’re a hiker, angler, or just enjoy a scenic drive you’ll find something for every one in this beautiful area. Not the outdoorsy type? The excitement and award-winning shows of Branson are minutes away. On the campground, RVers will appreciate the paved roads and large, level Pull-Thru sites that provide plenty of room for even the largest rigs. If you’re a tenter, try out a Deluxe Tent site that offers water, electiric and plenty of room for enjoying time with family around the campfire. Moore Haven KOA
Moore Haven KOA is located near Florida’s largest freshwater lake, Lake Okeechobee. Home to some of the best bass fishing in America, this campground is a must-visit spot for fisherman. They even have room to store your boat! If salt water is more your thing, take a day trip to one of Florida’s many beaches. Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, and the Gulf Coast a just a short drive away. Of course there’s lot of fun to be had right at the campground too – enjoy a game of petanque, relax in the heated pool, or kick back at your comfortable site complete with patio furniture. Houlton / Canadian Border KOA
Looking for a spot on your way to or from Canada? Houlton / Canadian Border KOA, the closest KOA to the Maine-Canada border, is definitely where you want to setup camp. Pull up in your RV or try a more unique way to stay by resting your head in a fully-furnished Glamping Tent with an array of creature comforts. This cozy campground also features scenic walking trails, fun activity areas and planned events. If you’re looking to get off the campground, Houlton, also known as “The County” has lots to offer. Take a stroll at Riverfront Park or catch a show at Temple Theatre. If you’re looking for a fun gift – or just like to shop – you’ll definitely want to make a stop at nearby Amish general store The Pioneer Place. So stop on in and give this new KOA a try.
Weidman KOA Holiday
Live the beach life at this wooded campground in central Michigan. Home to it’s very own swimming pond, Weidman KOA Holiday, is a favorite among families. Book a stay during a fun themed weekend in the summer or enjoy a fun planned activity like crafts, potlucks or beach concert. If that doesn’t sound like enough to do, this campground also offers peddle bikes, a basketball court, beach volleyball, a playground area, walking trails, a gift shop and an ice cream. Phew! If you find the time to leave the campground be sure to check out one of the nearby nature preserves for hiking, kayaking or just enjoying nature. Offering shaded RV sites, cabins and tent sites in the woods, the time to visit this KOA is now!
Newberry / I-26 / Sumter NF KOA
The owners of Newberry / I-26 / Sumter NF KOA describe their wooded campground as “Centrally located in the middle of everywhere”. Nestled on 19 acres in South Carolina, Lake Murray and Sumter National Forest are both nearby. You’ll also find eclectic restaurants, museums, and historical sites just a short drive away. Speaking of driving, 28 Pull-Thru sites with full hook-ups make it easy to roll in, roll out, and roll on! Stay for the night or stay for the weekend and make the most of the campground’s saltwater pool, playground, outdoor movie theater and Kamp K9. This KOA might be small, but the amenities and hospitality are definitely anything but.
Jonesborough / Cherokee NF KOA
Relaxation is required at this charming campground on the banks of the Nolichucky River. Jonesborough / Cherokee NF KOA makes it easy with a multitude of site a lodging options you won’t find elsewhere. Glamp in style in a rare, and loving restored, vintage camper from 1949 or fairy wagon. If that’s not enough, you can even stay in a caboose at this KOA. For RVers, riverside sites offer pristine views and more than their share of solitude. Off the campground you’ll be able to visit Tennessee’s oldest established town and the home of the International Storytelling Center. Cherokee National Forest is also nearby and is a must-visit if you’re a hiker.
