1 pound dried split peas, rinsed
6 cups chicken broth
1 cup diced celery
1 cup diced carrots
1 onion, chopped
½ tsp. dry mustard
1 tsp. salt
½ tsp. freshly ground pepper
pinch of oregano
2 cups diced ham or 2 ham hocks
Combine all ingredients and cook until peas are tender and ham falls off bone (if using ham hocks), 8-10 hours on low or 4-5 hours on high.
