Coleville/Walker, California KOA
Between Reno, Nevada and California’s Yosemite National Park, this beautiful little campground in the eastern Sierra Nevada Mountains is surrounded by great fishing, hiking and off-road ATV trails. It’s California, but there’s still great late-season cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and other winter wonders just a short distance away. Did we mention this KOA is a great place for ATVs? There’s trail access right from the park. Owners Tim and Mary Fesko are hospitality veterans, with more than 17 years in the business. Silt/Colorado River, Colorado KOA (Watch KOA.com for this campground’s website)
The Silt/Colorado River KOA will be a “brand new” campground when it opens in Spring 2015. The Colorado River flows right past this KOA in the heart of Colorado’s Rocky Mountains. Fish for trout right from the campground’s riverbanks (or even your site) or tube down the famous Colorado River. You’ll find a two-story clubhouse, swimming pool and hot tub. The area is ripe with great things to do, including the nearby waters of Glenwood Springs or the village of Aspen, just an hour away. This new KOA promises to be VERY special! Your Host: Ray Nielsen
Steamboat Springs, Colorado KOA
The beautiful Yampa River flows right through this classic Colorado campground, located in northwest Colorado between Rocky Mountain and Yellowstone National Parks. It’s close to the quaint resort town of Steamboat Springs, and there’s even a free bus right at the campground to take you downtown to peruse the unique art galleries, museums and fine dining. The iconic Steamboat Springs Ski Resort and area hot springs are just down the road. This area is famous for special activities and events, including the Steamboat Winter Carnival, Steamboat Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K, Mustang Roundup, Roundup Days, Hot Air Balloon Rodeo, All Arts Festival and Steamboat OktoberWest. Fort McCoy/Lake Oklawaha, Florida KOA
This new KOA is surrounded by Florida’s 400,000-acre Ocala National Forest and sits on a bluff overlooking the 13,000-acre, bass-filled Lake Oklawaha. There’s 3,700 feet of lakefront property on this KOA, and a recently updated 6,000-square-foot recreation hall with new bathrooms and a full kitchen. All of the roads are paved, and RV sites range from 55-feet to 75-feet long and up to 45-feet wide. All pets (even horses!) are welcome. This could be your next great Florida vacation home! Kamiah/Clearwater River, Idaho KOA (Watch KOA.com for this campground’s website)
This new KOA was formerly known as the Lewis & Clark Resort in this beautiful corner of northern Idaho. You’ll be camped near the place where Sacajawea lead the famed explorers on their way to the Pacific Ocean, and where the Nez Perce Native American Tribe called home. The mild climate in this part of Idaho offers travelers a chance to enjoy the campground all year. Downtown Kamiah, with its Western/Victorian motif, is just a mile away. Cozy Cabins are available, along with 165 RV sites. There’s room for motorcycle and RV rallies and meeting rooms that will hold 200 people. There are even tasty meals available at the Cozy Café. Shreveport/Bossier City, Louisiana KOA
This friendly KOA is back in the KOA system after a brief hiatus, and is just brimming with Southern hospitality. You can relax under the tall pines in one of the park’s Cabins, or enjoy one of the long, level pull-through RV sites. This KOA is surrounded by numerous nearby restaurants offering Louisiana’s best cuisine, and there are also nearby casinos with Vegas-style action. Also nearby are the American Rose Center, Splash Kingdom Family Waterpark, the Crooked Hollow Golf Club and the 8th Air Force Museum. No, this isn’t Naples, Florida. In fact, it’s about as far from Florida as you can get! Yet this beautiful new KOA brings its own brand of warmth to camping. Located in the Sebago Lakes region of western Maine, this campground is all about family fun. Every site is a full hookup site and includes free cable TV and WiFi. There is a new “theme week” every week during summer. You’re in close proximity to the towns of Windham, Fryeburg, Bridgeton and Casco, but we don’t think you’ll ever want to leave this “neck of the woods.” Your Hosts: Pam and Con Crepeau
Las Vegas KOA at Sam’s Town, Nevada
Welcome to KOA’s NEW home in exciting Las Vegas! KOA has partnered with the popular Sam’s Town entertainment complex. The Las Vegas KOA at Sam’s Town is one of the largest and established RV parks in the Las Vegas Valley. The 500-space campground is actually two parks that offer both 30- and 50-amp, full-hookup sites, spacious pull-through sites and extended stay opportunities. You may be not far from the Las Vegas Strip, but you’ll still be camping on a fully landscaped, shaded campground with grass and designated pet areas. There are two swimming pools with hot tubs, a laundry, cable TV and WiFi, and a communal barbecue. The historic gold mining town of Winnemucca is where you can camp with all of the modern conveniences, and still experience the Old West. History is around every corner in Downtown Winnemucca, with plenty of restaurants, casinos, pubs and boutiques to enjoy. The campground also has plenty to do, including a heated pool complete with a “Water Wars” water balloon catapult for tons of family fun. Nashville East/Lebanon, Tennessee KOA
Right in the middle of Tennessee, this new KOA is far away from the hustle and bustle of a big city, and yet is only 20 minutes from Downtown Nashville. The large pull-through sites can accommodate any RV and there are plenty of shaded tent sites, too. Anthony/El Paso West, Texas KOA
This paradise in the desert is in the foothills of Franklin Mountain State Park. There are 92 large pull-through sites, all with 50-amp service. Even the roads are as big as Texas, each 30-feet wide. All of the sites face north by northeast, so everyone gets both maximum shade and a great mountain view. There’s plenty to do nearby, including outlet malls, restaurants, eight museums, a racetrack, casino, 25-acre amusement park and the Wet’ n Wild Water Park in the summer months. This new Texas KOA is an outdoor Mecca! It’s just 15 minutes to Lake Sam Rayburn and close to several national forests. If you don’t want to drive to the lake, take advantage of this KOA’s fishing pond. It’s just minutes from Downtown Lufkin and Nacogdoches, with their famous antique shops. All of the campsites are big rig friendly, with full hookups and 20/30/50-amp service. Bring your clubs! The top-rated Crown Colony Country Club is nearby. Sanger/Denton North, Texas KOA
This new Texas KOA may be right off Interstate 35, but it’s all about serenity and peaceful evenings. The RV sites are spacious and big rig friendly, and they all have 20/30/50-amp service. The WiFi service is great, and there are concrete streets throughout the park. Come enjoy a cookout in the large pavilion, or snuggle up to the Austin stone fireplace.
