From Pittsburgh: Take I-79 North to Route 358 West in Greenville. Turn RIGHT onto Route 58 West to Route 322. Follow Route 322 West. Turn RIGHT onto South Pymatuning Lake Road. Travel North for 1/2 mile.
From Cleveland: Take I-271 to Route 322 East (Mayfield Road). Travel 50 miles and turn LEFT on Pymatuning Lake Road. Travel North 1/2 mile.

Bring your boat, there are plenty of marinas in the area to keep your watercraft seasonally or weekly. If you're not on the lake, enjoy browsing all the treasures at the Andover Flea Market. The kids may enjoy going to the Jamestown Deer Park and feeding the exotic animals. They can also make memories feeding the fish at the Linesville Spillway where the "ducks walk on water". We are a convenient distance from both Pittsburgh and Cleveland making it easy to plan a whole day of events.
The area surrounding Pymatuning was shaped by glaciers more than 14,000 years ago. The land was dotted with dozens of kettle lakes as the ice melted away. Indians were attracted to the area due to its rich wetland habitat and number of wild animals. The first inhabitants around the lake were the Mound Builders. The lake was named for Pihmtomink, the leader of the Lenape tribe. Pymatuning translates as "crooked mouth man's dwelling place".
Its average width is 1.6 miles with around 70 miles of shoreline. The maximum depth is 35 feet deep. The lake's capacity is 64,275,000,000 gallons of water. The state park has three beaches, seven picnic areas, five boat launches, and 2 hiking trails.
Pymatuning State Park is home to the bald eagle. Several pairs nest on the Pennsylvania side of the park. The park is home to numerous types of fish including walleye, crappie, black bass, bluegill and channel catfish. Stopping at the Spillway is a must! See office for directions hand out.

The five-mile paved trail stretches from the bustling Park Avenue Plaza in Meadville to Route 19, offering you the perfect opportunity to soak in the beauty of nature while enjoying a leisurely stroll or invigorating bike ride.

One of the best-known locations in Pymatuning is the spillway, an area where the fish are so plentiful that the "ducks walk on the fishes' backs" to compete for the food fed by the visitors. A fish feeding station is available for people with disabilities. From Fries Road to Linesville Road, this two-mile trail has parking and access at either end. This gravel trail on an abandoned railway is ideal for hiking and mountain biking. View Pymatuning Reservoir and visit nearby Linesville fish hatchery.
