The staff there are super friendly, we stayed in a deluxe cabin and it was really nice. This is my favorite KOA as well as San Deigo metro.

Just spent one night, nice campground, level, plenty of room and easy to drive in and out of. New owners working on making improvements, would definitely stay again.

Awesome stay! Only downside to this site is highway and train, but otherwise great staff, fun things for the kids to do and overall great place to do a quick get away!

Location was easy to get on and off of the expressway. The people were so friendly. Fresh coffee in the morning was wonderful. The bathrooms and showers were clean. The only downfall was the occasional noise from the road or a passing train.

Nicely laid out KOA. It's slightly on the smaller side and right next to the highway/train. However, it has a ton of mature trees, flowing creek and fun amenities. Very nice office. I thought I read somewhere the pool was heated...it is not, or if it is, it's not heated enough and that is a negative. The jumping pad is very fun, but needs cleaning. The positives definitely outweigh the negatives.

Nice campground - easy to find. Kids loved the jumpy pillow and pool. Friendly people. Nice shady sites.

Even though it was right next to the freeway, and across the freeway from the train tracks, the campground seemed quiet and secluded with all the trees on-site. The folks at the counter and running the place were the sweetest in the world. They do a great job at the campground. The sites were spacious and not crowded. It was a little tight on the roads going around to our site, but there was room.

One of Our Favorites On Our Trip. Very Clean and Spacious Sites With Tree's Also Has Camp Fire Pits and Plenty Of Grass. Clean Laundry Room. Would Highly Recommend This KOA to Be Traveling.

This is a very nice KOA. The sites are nice and the store is beautifully renovated. The bathrooms are older but very clean. The people and owner were very friendly and made sure we were taken care of. They are making tons of improvements. There is a train but I didn’t hear it when I slept. It is well worth the stay we were there for a week. Thanks for the stay.

Jake, Troy, and Erika were the best! They were friendly and receptive to suggestions for their newly purchased business! They let my family and I build the first fire pit! Thanks for making this our favorite KOA so far!!!

Love staying at Big Timber KOA. Sso much to do with family..Creek was awesome and sites great. Cute gift shop too. It was close to little town and lots of fishing places on Yellowstone River. It really showed Montana off. Thank you.

It was a very clean campground and everyone working there was friendly. The non-stop highway noise was the big downfall.

Pool is falling apart. Everything opens late and closes early. Fire pits are not at every site. Close to a train whistle point. Showers need to be fixed, small holes in stalls, rust on the ceiling. Wifi is not the greatest. There was also dog poop everywhere!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Dear Friend, We are a new owner and are trying to improve the park. We have done a lot of remodeling and it has improved. Here in another year it should be much better. As for the train, We are working with the rail road on a "no horn zone". Our hours are 8am-9pm Monday through Saturday. 9-6 on Sunday.

Camp ground is clean and they appear to be trying to make things better. The new owners are very nice and the check-in office and store all look brand new.The reason for my rating is there is no cable connection, no antenna reception and there appear to be full time or long term campers on the grounds which are not maintained. They also allow commercial vehicles to park at their sites, not good.

The road noise does need to be addressed. When we bookked the stay, we were not insistent on the camp spot. But if they wanted a repeat customer, they would have made sure we were in the back not up front. Also we were a late check in after 9, the information for us was in the box next to the front door. We were given the key to the lodge when we wanted a camp spot.

The campground is RIGhT next to a major highway and traintracks. There was highway traffic all night long and train horns blaring. It was AWFUL and I never will stay here or recommend it. I felt incredibly tricked. No one would want to stay where it is impossible to sleep.

The new owners we're wonderful, the campground looked and was clean! The only bad thing was the train horns. Maybe some day in the future the owners can work something out with the railroad. It took our community about 5 years to accomplish a deal with the railroad. Great place to camp.

Having not stayed at a KOA for a number of years, the Big Timber/Greycliff location made me wonder why it had taken so long to come back. My kids loved the pool & the jumping pillow. The staff were helpful & our tent site was perfect for our needs.
