We were looking for a retreat away from home and were pleasantly surprised. This KOA is very spacious and our cabin felt like it was in its own little cove. There were some ducks my kids loved playing with, great trails to hike on, dark skies at night to stargaze and it was very dog friendly. We enjoyed a trip to Angelina National Forest during our stay as well. We will come back to visit. :)

We always have a good time at Brookland KOA. The staff always goes above and beyond to accommodate the guests. The cabins are clean and comfortable & the grounds are well maintained. We love this place & will definitely be going back.

I rented two Lodge cabins and one Cottage. The cottage sleeps 4 and had two air units. Our larger cabin slept 6 and only had one air unit. This does not make sense- more people equals more body heat. We also rented the stables for a wedding. I was not informed that I was going to be charged for all guests passes- didn’t even know about the guest passes. Maybe a little more transparency will help

WE had a great time .We didnt want to leave everything was so great. My Son was disappointed that there was few fish in the ponds . But other then that it was perfect to me .

Everything was great except the ants were out of control, they got into our food and would appear within minutes inside the cabin. Then we realized it had gotten into our car, now at home and we are still battling them. Let me know when the ant problem is over. Pool was great, nature trails great, office staff great. Ants very very bad

We had a great time. My only suggestions...the clay in front of KL-08 is VERY slippery when wet & that area collects water. You might want to put out a few more paving stones to keep your guests safe. Also, the fishing pond needs more fish. In 3 days, we only saw one person catch one fish.

Came to the KOA to spend time with our granddaughters. We all had a great time. The pool is wonderful and we all enjoyed it very much. Everyone there was very friendly and helpful and our cabin was great. Hope to be able to go again.

Everything was perfect! The cabin was clean. The location was amazing. The grounds were so clean that it was difficult for us to find sticks to help with the fire. I’ve told everyone who has asked that I highly recommend this location!

It was fair...the mattress on full bed was worn out. The bunks for kids were actually better. I inquired about it to see if they could swap out to newer mattress but they couldn't. They told me some cabins had recently been updated with new mattresses but not all. I realize it's not a fancy hotel but this needs improvement for all cabins to provide same level of comfort. Pool water HOT! �

Super dusty and when I booked I said I had a 20 ft boat but was not given a cabin with adequate parking had to park further away so the boat would not be on a steep incline. Rooms were super clean and staff super helpful.

The stay was exceptional. The only issue was that we rented the FarmHouse which is advertised as being 3 bedrooms. However, it is really two bedrooms and then a set of bunk beds in a 3rd room that has no window or air conditioning unit. In the summer in Southeast Texas, a bedroom with no air conditioning and not knowing ahead of time in order to bring extra fans, etc. could be an issue.

First bring your own filters for the coffee pot...or pay a dollar per cup. Even the cheapest hotels offer free coffee. Beds were nothing more than thin foam mats , the door knob came off in my hand when entering there shower area, they didn't come and pick my trash till the 2nd day, unleashed dogs all over the property. On site ponds were overgrown with moss so bad that you couldn't fish them.

Stay was great needed the time off.. but A/C unit wouldn't cool during the day which made for a terrible hot stay. Usually bring my RV and stay there but first time to use a cabin and want do it again unless A/C are update.

Peaceful and quiet. The cabin was clean, but the AC did not work that well. Staff was friendly. Would be nice to rent ATVs or more planned activities. Overall great getaway, and very relaxing.

I have stayed at several other KOA Kampgrounds. This one by no means compares to any of them. Brookeland/Lake Sam Rayburn KOA is so small compared to all of the others. The beds were super uncomfortable. Definitely will not be returning to this one.

Did not sleep well the beds was uncomfortable. pool opened at 10 but they put chemicals in pool at 10 so we had to wait hour to swim. They should put chemicals in pool before it opens not while it is open. Over all campground was nice.

I loved the park. But the stay was terrible. The beds were super uncomfortable, there were no linens even though stated there would be and no coffee or coffee filters even though stated it would be there. I loved the park and the people were great that is why I gave it a good review.

The staff was very friendly! There were a few things that needed to be attended to. There needs to be some special attention paid to the pool by the office. The concrect is broken and uneven. Tripping concern. I also cut my toe open on a filter at the bottom of the pool. I could not see the bottom because of the chlorine level in the pool. Other than that it was an AWESOME experience! Disappointed. The cabin didn't have any dish soap. I was told they supplied it. We were there for 4 nights so that was very frustrating. On addition, during this covid, they stated they were taking Xtra precautions and sanitizing, but the cabin table had lots of dirt on it and the floor hadn't been swept. The fishing pond had zero fish and they closed the pool the last nite. Not much to do here

The whole facility was nice and relaxing. Only complaint is the cabin, it was filthy! I literally sweped a whole dust pan of dirt before putting our stuff in. The restroom had a bad smell. Take your own cleaning supplies, i was glad I did.

The farmhouse cabin we stayed in was awesome. Only complaints was that the two a/c units were on one side of the cabin and did not cool the cabin as a whole unless you left the bedroom doors open; also, there was no plunger for the toilet and no way to call the front desk at 10pm.

Beds desperately need to be upgraded. The store had 10 day expired bread, no plastic utensils and only 2 boxes of worms. They were not getting more bread in for a week. The man working in the store was very courteous. We didn't get any info on canoe or paddleboat rental. The pool was nice, but need more spaces with big umbrellas or covering from the sun.

The camp was clean and well kept, but we really wish that since they went through the trouble of putting a toilet in the cabins, they could at least put a curtain around it, if not a wall. Also, we were expecting to be able to kayak and ride horses. Neither were available. The kids had fun fishing, though. And we enjoyed walking the trails & riding the golf cart around.

Would have appreciated a canopy at our site. Especially since it poured down rain and we basically were stuck in the little cabin. Also, trash bags would be nice for liners In the trash can (we had to get trash can after check in.) Otherwise Tony is a great guy and also very helpful and accommodating. Nice, clean, very pet and family friendly.

Wonderful staff!! We had a great time despite the weather. Our cabin was clean and we loved being off of the fishing pond!! We will come back for sure!!

We had such a great time here! The cabin was pristine and comfortable. We really enjoyed sitting out by the fire looking out at the pond, and the three resident ducks were great company! I love that there is so much to do here, with two pools and canoe rentals. We also found the store well stocked for anything we needed during our stay. Highly recommend!

Great campground and facilities. Bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Close to the lake and had some trails in the woods on the property to explore. Pool is open year round but is not heated in the winter. Had no issues with the RV hookups everything worked great
