Campground Reviews

Clean and well organized park with good strong WiFi. Quiet stream on the south side. Perfect location for exploring the lower Bighorn region.

We enjoyed the park, not alot of trees where we were parked and the grass was scarce. Needs to be watered ALOT more, fertilized and taken care of. The staff were extremely helpful and very nice and polite. Staff tried very hard to help us with a spot with 50 amp. appreciated it very much. Will stay there again.

We had a wonderful stay at the Buffalo KOA. Bathrooms, showers, and kabins were very clean. The attention to detail was appreciated by our family and we will return next year!

This is a lovely place to stay, we’ve stayed here before on our trek to Yellowstone! The friendly staff and the great service are greatly appreciated! The grandkids always enjoy the amenities provided. The restroom and showers are very clean. We will be back!

Very friendly staff; great options - although fairly tight.

Enjoyed my stay. Lovely tent campsite by a stream. Excellent facilities and friendly staff. Too bad they are unable to find enough staff to keep their second set of restrooms open. However, I did get plenty of walking in between my tent site (the farthest campsite from the main building) and the office/restrooms/showers in the main building.

Very nice park but we were assigned Site #1 which was awful due to being a few feet from a busy highway that intersects with a very busy gravel road, traffic noise and dust was terrible, could not even sit outside due to the dust & noise, this was my first experience with KOA and due to the fact that they would reserve this kind of a Site to someone makes me question if I would stay at KOA again

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

There are always less desirable sites on a campground and the reservation was for an "economical" site - the only way to camp cheaper was by tenting. Really, it was dry and dusty everywhere on the campground due to the drought and high heat, we are hoping for rain and heat relief!

Great place to stay. Nice pool

Nice clean campground. Friendly staff.

Great front desk folks. Easy to get around and into your space. When the new addition to the park is open you have to get a site there. Awesome sites!

The streaming internet was great! The people were vert helpful and friendly. The sites were nicely decorated.

Our stay was wonderful, there were a few people in the store when I arrived to check in, two staff members immediately acknowledged me and started checking me in. The gentleman at the desk made sure I had plans while I was in Buffalo and gave me recommendations when I told him I wanted to hike. His recommendations were great and definitely made this one of our favorite spots on our three week trip

This was our second visit. We look Le the park a lot. I do not like site 27. People do not realize it’s a campsite had many people roaming thu. But our other sites were fantastic.
Jul 18, 2021
Was charged $5 early check in because “I interrupted their routine”. — angry, why yes I was. Stayed anyhow. Only two restrooms for a big park and one was closed, so in essence only one restroom. Yes we have a bathroom in our rig, but there are things we don’t do in it. Our water, electric, sewer were in the cement pad right next to our neighbors rig! Very odd indeed. Very crowded.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Our 1:00 check in time is displayed on every confirmation. Our staff has 2 hours from checkout to checkin to water grass, clean firepits/grills, patios, pick up litter/dog pooh, mow, repair damages, etc to properly prepare sites. $5/hr is reasonable for catering to checkins before the agreed time.

We only stayed one night it they didn’t shows us where our site was at just on a map not a big deal if the road name matched the map so pulling a42 ft camper threw a campground it b nicer to know where u are going it seems like half the KOAs take you to your site

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

That is correct! We should always offer to escort at the front desk. It took a day to realize that the maps did not match the signs - delayed due to COVID. Hopefully this will resolve soon and our messaging now correlates. Thanks for noting and sorry about the hassle!

Friendly staff and the creek is fun. Very clean and great WiFi. New section looks awesome once it’s open. The reason we gave it 4 stars is because we were hoping this would be set apart from the town more, as it felt quite “suburban”. Good proximity to the national forest.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Campsite was shaded and had grass. Recycling bins provided. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

super time will stay there again.

Beautiful spot. Helpful staff
Jul 17, 2021
Has potential to clean and upgrade campground. OK for over night stay. Needs to get rid of large gravel site pads.
Jul 16, 2021
Friendly staff, nicely kept campground. They were adding new sites while we stayed so it was a bit noisy with all the heavy equipment trucking in and out; but when it’s done, those may be the best sites in the campground. Crazy Woman Canyon was a great fine & recommend you visit. Buffalo is a quaint little western town nearby too. All in all very nice campground, would stay again.

Pleasant staff. Easy to get to
Jul 15, 2021
Hands down, the best managed KOA we’ve ever stayed at. Clean, friendly staff and wonderful surroundings. Looking forward to our next visit!!!
Jul 15, 2021
Paul and Anita took such good care of us. Getting a site for a week is getting to be difficult but they worked hard and searched until they were able to find a spot for us and we were very grateful as we were running out of options! Buffalo is full of history and we were able to take advantage! We recommend this KOA for travelers, you can depend on the them to make you fell at home!

Most convenient… great showers and laundry! Wonderful staff! Great amenities for kids !
Jul 14, 2021
Beautiful property and wonderful customer service. Traveling alone with my dog, I felt safe and welcome. Thank you very much!
Jul 14, 2021
One bath house was out of order, the one next to us. And the construction of additional sites was very annoying, especially at 5:30 am.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

The bath house is not out of order it is closed to alleviate the strain on staff.
Jul 13, 2021
Nice and clean as always
Jul 13, 2021
Thank you for another great stay!
Jul 13, 2021
Only negative was the construction trucks going back and forth right next to the east edge of the campground. They were noisy and kicked up dust so we didn't keep our windows open. Thank you for providing a recycling dumpster. Wish more campsites would do it.

Moved from Ohio to WA. Motorhome with 7 rescued dogs and 3 rescued cats. Of all the KOA's we stayed at this was by far the best. Clean, beautiful facilities..just a great place over all. Great if you have pets!

Not usually a big fan of KOAs, but this place is great. Stayed during winter protocols, so only had electric hookup. Lovely campground with lots of trees and grass and space between sites. Excellent wifi, though, since it was winter, the utilization was low. Will happily stay here on our way home.
