I-70 East Bound (from Utah) Exit 26. Right on Highway 50 (is also the I-70 Business Loop). Stay on Highway 50 (it could be US 50 on your GPS) by following the road signs to Montrose. After you cross the Colorado River, the KOA is about 3 miles on the right.
I-70 West Bound (from Glenwood Springs) Take exit 37. 1 mile on the I-70 Business Loop. Left on Highway 141 (by Wendy's) it is about 5.5 miles to Highway 50. Right on Highway 50 (this could be US 50 on your GPS). It is about 3.5 miles to the KOA. We are on the left. Go past us and make a U-turn at the Fair Grounds entrance.

Celebrating One Year of Art: Our Pool Mural Turns One
This year, we’re celebrating something special at the Grand Junction KOA Holiday—our pool mural is officially one year old!
What makes this piece even more meaningful is how it came to life. Last year, we partnered with talented students from Colorado Mesa University (CMU), inviting them to submit original designs for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: to create a massive two-wall mural at the heart of our campground. The competition brought in a range of creative, thoughtful, and inspiring concepts, each one capturing a unique vision of our beautiful Western Colorado landscape.
After careful consideration, one design stood out among the rest.
The winning mural perfectly captures the spirit of our area—a vibrant desert oasis filled with color, warmth, and life. With sweeping desert tones, bright skies, and elements that reflect the natural beauty surrounding Grand Junction, the mural feels both energizing and peaceful. It’s bold, it’s welcoming, and it brings a sense of place to our pool area that guests instantly connect with.
Over the past year, this mural has become more than just artwork—it’s become part of the experience. Families gather around it, kids point out their favorite details, and it’s quickly become one of the most photographed spots in the park. It truly embodies the feeling we want every guest to have when they stay with us: relaxed, inspired, and immersed in the beauty of the high desert.
We’re incredibly proud to have partnered with local CMU students and to showcase their talent in such a meaningful way. Supporting local artists and bringing creativity into our space is something we value deeply, and this mural is a lasting reflection of that.
