We are located 2 miles east of the intersection of Highway 16 and SD-87. From I-90, take Exit 61 and follow the signs to Hill City. Once you reach Hill City, continue on Highway 16 for 8.8 miles, then turn left onto Needles Highway (SD-87). Drive another 2 miles, and you'll find us on the right.

9:00 AM – Enjoy a peaceful morning surrounded by pine trees, fresh air, and quality time with family before heading out for the day's adventures. Enjoy a relaxed breakfast or brunch at the KOA Café before departing.
10:00 AM – Drive 20 minutes up the beautiful Needles Highway into Custer State Park for a scenic drive through the Wildlife Loop, one of the best places to see springtime baby animals.
Keep an eye out for newborn bison calves, playful burros (bring a carrot or two for great photos!), pronghorn, deer, and prairie dogs. This slow-paced drive offers incredible photo opportunities as you take in the quiet wonder of the Black Hills.
11:30 AM – Continue 20 minutes from the Wildlife Loop to the iconic Sylvan Lake, known for its dramatic granite formations and peaceful shoreline. Take a leisurely walk around the lake, enjoy the views, and capture photos at one of the most scenic spots in the Black Hills.
12:30 PM – Return to Hill City for lunch at the historic Alpine Inn, a local favorite known for its charming European atmosphere and signature dining experience, or try the Desperados Cowboy Restaurant.
2:00 PM – Spend the afternoon exploring downtown Hill City and browsing local shops and boutiques. This is the perfect opportunity to find a meaningful keepsake, such as signature Black Hills Gold jewelry, unique artisan gifts from local artists, or artwork like Dahl's Chainsaw Art.
