We came from Michigan so 16 family members could enjoy Thanksgiving together safely. We all brought our own food and enjoyed a socially-distanced Thanksgiving dinner in the spacious pavilion. The 6 teenagers had fun with the bounce thing, basketball hoops, and volleyball. The 3 families who stayed in deluxe cabins appreciated the full-size refrigerator, satellite TV, and strong WIFI.

Absolutely loved our little cabin rental! Friendly staff. Restrooms very clean and above my expectations. I have stayed at a few KOA and this has to be my favorite. Fun kid area and dog park. Close to attractions. Will be back to stay in the wagons next!

The wagon was sooo precious, but the location (near the interstate was not the greatest due to being able to hear the interstate traffic from the wagon. Also, upon entering the room, the set up was nice however there was mozzarellas sticks left in the microwave and a melted drink laid over in the freezer. During the Covid 19, it made me wonder how well the rest of the room was cleaned. Cute wagon

Thank you for the great review. Happy to see you will return.

Cabin 6 had so much fust on fan blades we didn't dare turn it on. The shower needs major cleaning of grout... moldy. The furniture covers need cleaning. The host was not personable at all... Very sub par.

Cabin 1, basic cabin, needs door fixed. Boarded window in back of the cabin for the air conditioner is understandable but ugly.
Oct 19, 2020
The cabin pictures and info given on confirmation email are definately not the same. The cabin should have some basic supplies furnished. the fridge door rubs against the wall when opening. The micro door won't open all way because rubs against fridge. The shower head is to close to wall. KOA staff is very nice and friendly and the place is very clean.

Our stay was amazing.

No wood for the fire pit. Sent us to liquor store to buy some. All food we took was for grilling. No gas for grill (waited 2 hours for someone to get tanks filled) We took tanks to gas station to get filled. (KOA did pay for gas) Grill burners did not work good at all. We stayed in the covered wagon! Loved the wagon and the view!!!! Older Lady at The desk was trying to fix all our problems!

Everything about our stay was great. We spent two nights in one of the covered wagons and highly recommend this experience. From check in to check out we had a first rate experience.

What a lovely place - thank-you!

We absolutely love coming to the covered wagons! It’s our favorite new vacation spot, we’ll definitely be back soon!

The covered wagons are amazing! Highly recommend this KOA. It’s the nicest one we’ve stayed at.
Sep 28, 2020
Loved the covered wagons! Only complaint was when checking in there was only 1 person working so we had to wait a while bc they were out delivering firewood and then there were 6 people waiting to check in.

Good location for access to Mammoth Cave National Park and other cave items of interest. Lots of improvements in place, such as paved roadways through much of the campground. Camping cabin worked out well!

Fantastic wagon! Super clean bath house and accommodation. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We had an amazing time and the kids are ready to go back next week if we could. A+

The campground is very close to the very active I-65 highway. If you are a light sleeper, this will keep you awake, and is generally unpleasureable as it is not restful to listen to cars and trucks go by at all hours day and night. The cabin smelled like cigarette smoke, the shower was filthy and we lost a good amount of food to ants that invaded the kitchenette in the luxury cabin.
Sep 22, 2020
Deluxe cabin smelled like smoker . Trash on the floor under air conditioner. Futon holes in it and didn't open. I expected nicer for the money.

We loved the unique opportunity to stay in one of the covered wagons. My son enjoyed all of the amenities offered at the campground. The bath house was one of the nicest I have seen in a campground. There is a lot of highway noise but it didn’t dampen our visit. The fire pits and sitting areas were a great addition to the space.

The covered wagons were amazing! The beds and pillows were super comfy and cozy.. better than most hotels! It's a bit loud due to the freeway, I think a noise barrier fence around the site could eventually help that. The bathrooms are all brand new and the water pressure is amazing. It's quaint and relaxing and there's a lot of money and love being put into that place. We will definitely be back!

Awesome stay very friendly people and a nice clean cabin
Sep 21, 2020
The deluxe cabin is very over priced. The heat didn't work, the futon couch fell apart as soon as we sat on it, the TV randomly cut in and out, the shower curtain in the bathroom was edged in pink, even though its white. Had it been priced for what it's worth, my expectations would have perhaps been more appropriate. The jumping pillow was a hit with the kids but we won't stay here again.

We stayed in cabin number 6 the outside of cabin was nice, although the inside of cabin had some issues with cleanilness. The futon had a horrible odor, bedspread had dirty spots on it, the pillows did not have pillowcases on them only zip off pillow case covers and had black hairs on them. Refrigerator shelves were dirty. We left because it was so dirty. I will never recommend the cabins.

I wish you had let the office staff know about this upon check-in. I would have addressed this issue. I will look into this matter and see what could have happened. I apologize for the unpleasant stay.

Beautiful settings ! Awesome facilities! Loved the covered wagon! Would love to visit again! No complaints at all! Maybe a suggestion. We love campground atmosphere, if we don’t bring camper we stay in cabins. We don’t smoke , but we wanted a fire. Bought firewood from store, had no matches . Lol Would gladly have paid 1.00 more for little box of matches and 1 little stick of fire starter

We love it staying in the covered wagon. The view was amazing. The fishing and the pool was very nice. The bathrooms were super clean and one of the best at any Koa we've stayed at. The park set up was very nice as well.

No problems and I shared my stay on fb

loved the covered wagon! looking forward to doing it again.the bath house was a total surprise, the nicest and cleaned bath house i have ever seem in a campground.the staff was friendly and helpful.wish i had known the pool was still open i would"ve brought my swimsuit i guess i should"ve called before we came but was told it closed on laborday.anytime keep up the good work

Many areas in the cabin were unclean, under the sink cabinet there was a rodent trap (which is fine) however there was feces all in the cabinet & various corners of the cabin. Beside the bed, the light over the sink, etc were dusty & unclean. With such a small cabin it would not take long to clean well. Our parking space had nails & screws, luckily we did not get any in our tires.
Sep 08, 2020
Very friendly staff, nice clean private family bathrooms/showers, and the Covered Wagons were amazing.
Sep 08, 2020
We really enjoyed our stay in the cabin! With all of the renovations going on, it looks beautiful! Those are the nicest campground restrooms I have ever seen or used! My only suggestion would be to also upgrade the mattresses on the beds. They were way too thin, we ended up going to Walmart to buy a mattress topper, only because we were staying for 4 nights, which helped slightly. Great staff!!

Excellent cabin. Housekeeping needs improvement. Food left in microwave. Other than that outstanding place to stay

The Horse Cave KOA is so beautiful. We stayed in one of the treehouses. There were only a couple cabins that were in use and maybe 5 campers. The Koa is very nice good for kids. We did have a tornado go through during our stay and it was scary since we were in a tree house. However, the treehouse was stunning and absolutely worth it. There are also covered wagons you can stay in. You are close to mammoth caves and a other fun activities. Small campground with a ton of charm. We will likely return.
