What's cooking? Delicious Campfire Recipes

Here are a few easy, fun recipes that you can enjoy around the campfire:

Campfire Churros

Ingredients
•1 can crescent rolls
•1/2 cup (1 stick) salted butter
•1/2 cup granulated sugar
•2 tbsp cinnamon
•Pinch of cayenne, to taste
•Chocolate sauce, for dipping

Directions
1. Unwrap crescent rolls and wrap each crescent around a campfire fork, starting at the wide end and ending with the point.
2. Hold over the campfire and toast until puffed and golden brown, about 8-10 minutes.
3. Dip in butter, then roll in cinnamon sugar mixture.
4. Serve with chocolate sauce!

Grilled Camp Nachos

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. hamburger cooked with taco seasoning
  • 4-5 jalapenos
  • 5-6 sweet peppers
  • 1 bunch green onions
  • Olive or vegetable oil
  • 1 bag tortilla chips
  • 2-4 cups shredded cheddar and/or pepper jack cheese
  • 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 2/3 cup sliced black olives, optional
  • For garnish: diced tomatoes, guacamole, sour cream, cilantro, salsa

Directions

1. Preheat grill and grill basked to medium heat.
2. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil
3. Place jalapenos, peppers and onions in grill basket, drizzle with oil and toss to
coat.
4. Cook until charred and tender. Then remove and slice into bite sized pieces.
5. Spread half of chips on prepared baking sheet. Top with half of the cheese, taco
meat and black olives.
6. Top with the remaining chips, cheese, taco meat and olives.
7. Place on grill, cover and cook until cheese is almost melted.
8. Add sliced peppers and onions, cover and cook until melty and delicious.
9. Serve with diced tomatoes, guac, sour cream, cilantro and salsa.

Serves 6-8 people.
