The only reason I give this koa a 3 is because of the friendly and helpful staff. The restrooms and showers could use some TLC and the petal carts could be a little cheaper since the splash pad is down. Some of our bad experience had nothing to do with the park but another guest being sick and using the shower late at night when everyone else is trying to do the same and there was no one to clean.

The family that own and operate the park are very much into customer service and in touch with with how to treat people all the same, whether you are in popup or a 45ft pusher. They have had the park a short time, but in time they will make even better than it is. The family works together all of the time. We spent 11 days there so we got to see pretty much the whole picture.

Super cute little cabin like most KOAs. :) Clean and Quite. We got in late, and left early, but like most KOA's this one was awesome and well maintained! :) Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

power, water and cable are way to far in to the sites causing people to have to unhook their trailers,

This is a Journey KOA for those traveling by who need to stop for a night or two. It provides this service nicely. This KOA is dusty from nearby dry roads and heavy traffic. Unfortunately, too, this KOA cannot stop crude RVers from leaving their dog waste. I picked up several piles, one next to the poop bag dispenser. I did not let either fact affect my rating. Just be aware. Not their fault.

Thank you for the kind words and support. We do try to clean up after all guests and their pets but unfortunately, as you said, some RVers are less considerate. We are a Journey so yes we fill the role of a fast easy overnight stop.

This site is incredibly loud. It is directly next to the highway and the frontage road snd there’s traffic all night.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Unfortunately, it is a trade off, we are close to the interstate for easy access and fast on and off but this does come at the cost of road noise. We are trying to mitigate noise by planting trees but the 40+ trees we planted so far need time to grow.

A Journey KOA. Easy on, easy off the interstate. Traffic noise is inevitable. Clean showers & bathrooms. A safe place to sleep. That's all I ask!

It is a dust bowl. It needs to be spruced up like other KOAs. Stay if it is a last resort or overnight only. County 6 bar down the road has great steaks

Easy pull-throughs. Cute splash pad (although closed because of drought conditions). The big negative is that it is too close to the freeway for the amount of traffic (trucks) all night.

No shade, no water activities (splash pad shut down & they got rid of their pool), no ice. It is a clean park & the staff was very helpful.

The staff was great. They were friendly and accommodating. The site itself left a lot to be desired. It was rocky and uninviting. We paid $50 for our pull through with full hook up, but there were no amenities like a pool, outdoor game area, or shade. Day before we paid $30 for a site with grass, shade, a swimming pool and fishing pond. Kind of pricy for what they offer.

Check in staff were nice, from there on the place was poor. The site is not maintained, the water to landscaping is off and they have not taken steps to control the weeds. The sewer service must have a venting issue, because it backs up quickly when flushing tanks. Won't be back.

Okay for an overnight. No shade and uneven spaces. Price is not appropriate for the lack of amenities and lack of pride for the park.

Everything in Rawlins KOA was perfect, with clean and easily accessable facilities. Be aware however that next to the tent area is an apartment complex and you may be able to hear the tenants there.

This KOA is definitely below average. Dusty, gravel, not level sites with power towers in the wrong location (too far from the back of the site). We did very much appeciate the cable service so we could watch the Olympics but it was not advertised and I was told to try it and see "if it works"....it did work. Just not an attractive place.

Overall stay was fine, as well as the service. Kamper Kabin could have been a little better swept out prior to my arrival (under the bed).

Horrible spaces bathrooms dirty. Might as well stay at a roadside rest stop! Completely useless

I requested a pull thru 50 amp motorhome with 4 slides, towing car. We had site #18 which is too short for 45 foot towing. Campground is very dusty, gravel, never see any improvements from one year to the next. We will skip Rawlins KOA in the future.

Sites level, staff friendly and helpful. No fire pit. This is a stop over and it excels in this function. it is close to the freeway so close up or wear ear plugs I would rate it as a 4.5 stars

Thank you for your comments. Please be aware we are planting trees to absorb some of the road noise but this will take several year to help. The road is a trade off close to the interstate for easy on and off but the down side is added noise.

This was a decent place to stay overnight, and improvements are being made at this location, but overall, it felt a little rundown. The concrete picnic table pads are a great addition! However, we barely fit into our space even though it should have been spacious for our truck and trailer. The splash pad was not open because of drought, which I understand but was still a bummer for the kids.

Thank you for the comments. My family just purchased the park and are trying to get it back up to standard. Unfortunately this is a long process and our time is limited as we have guests on ground at all times. We hope you will consider stopping by in the future to let us know how we are doing.

Our site was right next to the interstate. Late in the evening a woman told my husband that they were assigned the site we were in. We showed her our card with the number and the office person assigned them the site after we were given the spot. We were happy to have found a KOA that wasn't filled.

Please immediately notify a member of staff at any hour day or night if someone is in your site or tries to come into your site!! WE DO NOT DOUBLE BOOK. If this happens managers need to be notified right away to handle the situation.

We stayed here in a snow storm, the owner plowed for us, the restrooms and showers were very clean, and a very convenient stop off of 80 with propane fill, great WiFi, and even a doggie play yard! Lots of extras we appreciated!
