The campground is located right off Highway 35. Directions from Corpus Christi: Head southwest toward I-37 N. Take TX-35 N to Farm to Market Rd 3036 in Rockport. Turn onto Loop 1781 and take a left into the campground. Directions from Highway 35 S: Follow Highway 35 S and exit at Loop 1781. The campground is on the right.

Hummingbirds are some of the most fascinating birds to watch — fast, colorful, and full of energy. At Rockport/Corpus Christi KOA Journey, we’re excited to introduce our brand-new Hummingbird Garden, a welcoming space for these tiny visitors and a peaceful spot for our guests to enjoy.
Our new garden is filled with plants chosen to attract and sustain hummingbirds throughout the year. Bright flowers, shady spots, and carefully placed feeders create a natural environment where you can see these little birds up close.
Winding walking paths make it easy to stroll through the garden, pause on a bench, and enjoy the sights and sounds around you. Whether you’re a birder, a photographer, or simply someone who enjoys quiet moments in nature, this garden offers a front-row seat to hummingbird activity right inside the campground.
Rockport is one of the best spots in Texas to see hummingbirds, especially during migration season. Each fall, thousands of hummingbirds pass through the Gulf Coast on their long journey south. Our location puts you right in the middle of the action, and the new garden is the perfect place to witness it.
If you’re planning a fall visit, don’t miss the annual Rockport HummerBird Celebration — a community-wide festival dedicated to these incredible birds. The event features expert talks, birding tours, workshops, and plenty of opportunities to learn more about hummingbirds and see them in action.
