This festival in early May has deep roots in the local community, with a history dating back to the 1860s. By the 1880s, the festival gained the name "Fruit Day" to acknowledge the city's harvests and show neighboring communities their products. In 1939, the community added a band festival. Today, it is the state's largest community-run school music competition and features national bands, orchestras and choirs.
