We were there for two nights. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful and the park was in excellent condition. Nestled among the trees in a quiet country setting, the park was excellent.

Overall, a really nice, quiet place to stay for a couple nights. We got a cabin that was comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed. I do recommend updating the futon cushion more frequently, or considering a replacement with a hide-a-bed couch--the futon in couch form had a rather worn-out pad that was pretty uncomfortable to sit on.

Very nice staff and great campground overall! We loved the location and the quietness. We will definitely stay here again. We camped in a fifth wheel.

The new L7 cabin was awesome. My two children and their families shared the cabin. They had a very good time. The kids loved it.

We had a wonderful time at the Rusk KOA. Wish we could have stayed longer. The staff is top notch and the facilities are spotless!

It is a great park with friendly staff. The one big thing we would suggest would be an attachment to the lawn mower for leaf picking up. We heard the blower more than anyone really ever wants to hear. We also learned of some activities that had we not needed something in the office we would not have known about. We have already referred this park out to several people.

My sisters and I met friends there, who had RV. We stayed in cabin, which was comfortable and very nice. We had the very best time. Park was safe and secure and very quiet at night. During the day, we could hear children enjoying the play area, laughing and playing outside....so very refreshing. Staff was accommodating and friendly. I plan to return.

Very peaceful (except the leaf blower), but it's to be expected in the fall! Very clean facilities, easy maneuvering, and very nice staff. Very helpful as well as we experienced a tire issue. Would definitely stay again.

The cabin was cute and the showers were clean and well kept. Scenery was beautiful and the campgrounds were in good shape.

The staff was great. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The only thing I would change would possibly be the cabin pricing. I'm used to a 1 bedroom cabin on a lake in Washington state for half of what I paid for the Rusk cabin. over all it was a nice stay.

Rusk KOA was very nice with friendly staffers and not crowded, which was relaxing! Definitely less privacy if more campers were there during the week. Being in our seventies, the one trail we hiked was precariously steep, accumulated leaves causing almost a straight-down sliding trail. Yikes! The surrounding woods were beautiful, though, the weather warm with a nice breeze, so MISSION complete!

Nicest KOA campground I have visited in several years. All amenities met my expectations. Grandkids really enjoyed the playground and pedal cars!

Awesome place to stay. Very clean bathrooms and they are heated. Overall very clean park. TV cable worked very well. We will stay there again.

Great friendly staff, but park a little rough, no hard surface pads. Otherwise a fine park with lots of trees.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

All of our roadbeds are a chip seal construction and may have an appearance of gravel. I assure you our pads can hold the weight. Thanks for staying with us.

A beautiful gem in the Heart Of East Texas, with scenic views (on the trails), the oaks and pines, just spectacular. Its centrally located near 19 wineries and 2.5 hours from 3 major cities. We havent left yet, just moved spots for the quiet (a few noisy seasonals, partying one night-not KOA's fault). We plan on staying for work until spring, might stay longer because its so beautiful here.

Had an excellent experience at Rusk KOA. Laundromat is clean and well lighted. Easy access through the campground. The hosts and staff are very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again.

I called ahead from my home in Michigan and I was excited that cabins were a option. As the SFA University was having Homecoming Activities, I was surprised there were cabins available. The husband/wife mgmt. team made my stay very relaxing. Next year I’m sure that they will be full during homecoming as I gave them contact info. for the event coordinator with the SFA Alumni Assn.

We stayed there to celebrate our wedding anniversary and take the Texas State Railroad. The park is clean and very well kept.ALL of the folks who work there are nice and well informed about the area. Easy to get too and set back from the road so you are in your own world with plenty of places to walk with family or with your dogs (we have two Weimaraners) . Would stay here again.

This was just an overnight for us, but we were very impressed with the staff, the cleanliness and the attention to detail. We felt welcomed, taken care of, and appreciated. The sites were level, long, and not too close together. The laundry and bathhouses were very clean and modern.

The staff was exceptional. They made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The campground was quiet, tidy, and restful. The restrooms and showers were very clean, and the water temperature was easy to regulate.

Bill & his wife are the host at this park. They work their butt's off keeping it looking great, outside as well as in the front office. The park can accommodate any size rig (we're 72' with our car hauler) with level pads and paved roads. Super quiet, great place to star gaze while sitting by a fire. Only one problem, people on extended stays with dogs don't believe that rules apply them.
