San Diego KOA E-Bike and E-Scooter Rules

Ride safely. Be courteous. Share the Road.

Welcome

E-bikes and E-Scooters are welcome at our resort campground when used safely and respectfully. Please follow these simple rules so everyone can enjoy their stay.

Where You May Ride

  • Ride only on campground roads and marked bike routes.
  • Do not ride inside buildings, pool areas, restrooms, landscaped areas, staff-only areas, closed roads, or places marked “No Bikes” or “Walk Bikes.”
  • The Sweetwater River Bike trails outside of the campground are one of the best areas to ride.

Ride Slow and Share the Road

  • Maximum speed is 7 mph—or slower when the area is busy.
  • Slow to walking speed near pedestrians, children, pets, playgrounds, pools, restrooms, the camp store, intersections, and campsite loops.
  • No racing, stunts, towing, reckless riding, distracted riding, or riding while impaired.

Know Your E-Bike

  • Class 1 and Class 2 e-bikes may be used on campground roads and designated bike routes unless posted otherwise.
  • Class 3 e-bikes may be used only at slow speeds on main campground roads.
  • E-Motorcycles, Suron, Talaria, Modified, high-powered, or non-classified devices are not allowed to be operated within the campground

Helmets and Minors

  • Guests under 18 must wear a properly fitted and fastened helmet.
  • Class 1 and Class 2 e-bike operators must be at least 12 years old.
  • Class 3 riders must be at least 16 with a valid driver’s license.
  • E-Scooters must be at least 10 years old
  • Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising minors at all times.

E-Bikes and E-Scooters After Dark

  • In order to protect the safety of both operators of e-Bikes and e-Scooters and guests walking around the campground, e-Bikes and e-Scooters are not permitted after dark.

If Rules Are Not Followed

Management may issue a warning, restrict e-bike use, require removal of an e-bike from the property, assess fees for damage, or ask a guest to leave without refund for repeated, reckless, or dangerous violations.

Guest Agreement

By bringing, charging, storing, or riding an e-bike or e-scooter on campground property, you agree to follow these rules, posted signs, and staff directions.
