The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, affectionately known as Jazz Fest, is a vibrant celebration of the city's rich cultural tapestry. Held at the Fair Grounds Race Course, located at 1751 Gentilly Boulevard, this annual event showcases a diverse array of music, food, and art that reflects the unique heritage of New Orleans and Louisiana.
Getting There and Around
Jazz Fest is nestled in the heart of New Orleans, and getting there is made easy with multiple transportation options. A detailed transportation map is available on the festival's website, and the Jazz Fest Express Shuttle provides continuous round-trip service from three convenient departure points to the Fair Grounds.
If you’re looking for a more outdoorsy experience, consider camping at Slidell KOA, just across Lake Pontchartrain - about 30 minutes from the festival grounds. It’s a peaceful basecamp with great amenities, perfect for relaxing after a high-energy day at Jazz Fest.
Tickets and Admission
Tickets can be purchased through the official Jazz Fest website. New for 2025, Louisiana residents can take advantage of special general admission pricing, including “Locals Thursday” tickets for just $50 on both April 24 and May 1. It’s a great way to enjoy the fest without breaking the bank.
Festival Experience
Jazz Fest is a cashless event, so bring your credit/debit cards or use digital payment methods like Apple Pay. If you arrive with cash, no worries - there are cash exchange booths on site.
The festival is also proud to offer an inclusive experience through its Access Program, ensuring patrons with disabilities can enjoy everything from the music to the food and art. Look for the Access Center in front of the Grandstand for more resources.
