From West Yellowstone: 6 miles west of Yellowstone National Park West Entrance at West Yellowstone, Montana on US HWY 20, aka. the Targhee Pass Hwy.
From Idaho: 3 miles east of the Montana/Idaho border on US HWY 20, aka.the Targhee Pass Hwy.
Be aware that we are 1.5 miles east of the new Mountainside Journey KOA which is also on US Hwy 20.

Yellowstone National Park is opening its gates for the summer 2025 season, and there’s never been a better time to plan your stay at Yellowstone Park / West Gate KOA Holiday. The National Park Service has been instructed to keep the park as open and accessible as possible this year—and that means more chances to explore, discover, and reconnect with nature.
Beginning at 8 a.m. on Friday, April 18, 2025, select entrances and park roads will open for the season, weather permitting. Visitors can now enter Yellowstone through both the North Entrance (Gardiner, MT) and the West Entrance (West Yellowstone, MT)—just minutes from our campground!
From these entrances, guests will have access to some of the park’s most iconic destinations:
Mammoth Hot Springs
Lamar Valley
Norris Geyser Basin
Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone
Old Faithful
Silver Gate and Cooke City, Montana
Additional roads and areas of the park will continue to open throughout May as weather and conditions allow. To help reduce wait times at the entrance, we recommend purchasing your park pass online in advance.
