Poppy Seed Bread

Ingredients
Makes 2
- 3 c flour
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 3 Tbsp poppy seeds
- 1 1/2 tsp butter flavored extract
- 1 1/3 c vegetable oil
- 3 eggs
- 1 1/2 c milk
- 2 1/4 c white sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 tsp almond extract
Preparation
Grease the bottoms of two 9-inch bread pans, and preheat oven to 350 degrees. In medium bowl combine the flour, salt, and baking powder and set aside. In large bowl mix together the oil, eggs, sugar, milk, poppy seeds, butter flavoring, vanilla, and almond flavoring. Then slowly add in the dry ingredients. Pour into prepared pans and bake for one hour. Cool 5 minutes. Poke holes in the tops of each loaf and pour glaze over them.
Glaze:
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 1/2 teaspoon butter flavored extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups confectioners' sugar
Combine all ingredients and mix well, then pour over slightly cooled loaves. Wait 10 minutes and transfer the loaves over to a cookie sheet to cool completely.
