Yummy Cubed Steak
This is one of my family's favorites. The mushroom soup mixtures makes a wonderful gravy and is absolutely delish when served over rice or mashed potatoes.
Ingredients
- 4 - 6 pieces cubed steak
- 1 c all purpose flour
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 2 Tbsp dehydrated onion or 1 small fresh onion, chopped
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 1/2 can half and half
- 1 Tbsp garlic powder
- 1 Tbsp hot sauce
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 Tbsp oil
Preparation
Mix flour, garlic powder, salt and pepper well. Add 1 tsp water to beaten eggs and blend. Add oil to frying pan and heat enough so oil isn't smoking or doesn't pop out when adding steak. Dip cubed steak into beaten eggs, coating well. Then dredge in flour mixture. Place steak into heated oil and allow to brown on both sides. Remove to draining towel and drain and discard remaining oil from pan. To pan, add mushroom soup, half and half, onion, salt, pepper and hot sauce. Whisk well until mixture is smooth. Return cubed steak to pan with soup mixture and allow to cook on medium-low heat, covered, for one hour. Serve with rice or mashed potatoes. Enjoy !
