General Campground Information

Wi-Fi Information

Wi-Fi is available throughout the campground for general browsing, email, and basic internet use. Due to our rural location and seasonal network demand, streaming services and high-bandwidth usage may be limited during busy periods.

Camp Store & Office Hours

Camp store and registration hours vary seasonally. During the main camping season, the office is typically open daily with morning and afternoon/evening service hours. After-hours arrival information and late check-in envelopes are available for guests arriving after office hours.

Quiet Hours

Quiet hours are observed from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM to help ensure a relaxing stay for all guests. Please be respectful of neighboring campers during evening and early morning hours.

Campground Features

Albert Lea / Austin KOA Journey is designed primarily as a quiet overnight and road-trip campground featuring spacious RV sites, rural surroundings, open green space, a KampK9® dog area, laundry facilities, cabins, tent camping, and easy interstate access.While we do not offer resort-style amenities or a swimming pool, many guests enjoy the campground's peaceful atmosphere, star-filled skies, and relaxing rural setting after a day on the road.

Check-In & Check-Out Times

RV and tent site check-in begins at 2:00 PM. Cabin accommodations check-in begins at 3:00 PM. Check-out time for all sites and accommodations is 11:00 AM. Please contact the campground directly if you anticipate a late arrival.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel your reservation, please call the campground before the deadlines below to receive a refund of your deposit, less a $20 administrative cancellation fee. Text and email notifications of cancellations will not be accepted.   
  • RV & Tent Sites: You must give 7 days cancellation notice. Call the KOA you made your reservation with by 4 p.m., seven days before your scheduled arrival.
  • Lodging & Accommodations: You must give 14 days cancellation notice. Call the KOA you made your reservation with by 4 p.m., fourteen days before your scheduled arrival.

Cancellation Details:

  • Reservations made after these deadlines require nonrefundable deposits.
  • Cancellations made after the deadlines will result in forfeiture of the full deposit.
  • No refunds are given due to the discomforts of nature, including no-shows and early checkouts.
  • No refunds are given on or after the arrival date.
  • Refunds will be processed using the original credit/debit card, with no exceptions.
  • The cancellation policy may be amended during a Regional/National travel disruption.
  • Holidays and special events may have unique deposit and/or cancellation requirements. Please check with your selected KOA for details.

Pet Policy

Pets are welcome at Albert Lea / Austin KOA Journey. We offer a KampK9® dog area, pet waste stations, and open walking areas throughout the campground. Pets must remain on a leash no longer than 6 feet when outside designated pet areas and may not be left unattended. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets. Camping Cabins are pet friendly. Deluxe Cabins are not pet friendly.

Electric Vehicle Charging

At this time, electric vehicle charging is not permitted from campsite electrical pedestals, as campground electrical systems are not designed for continuous EV charging loads.Guests needing EV charging can find public charging stations within the Albert Lea and Austin area. Please contact the office if assistance locating nearby charging stations is needed.

Visitor Policy

Registered guests are welcome to have daytime visitors while enjoying the campground. All visitors must check in with the office upon arrival and comply with campground quiet hours and policies.Visitors are expected to respect campsite boundaries, campground speed limits, and shared campground spaces to help maintain a peaceful environment for all guests.

Firewood & Fire Safety

Campfires are permitted in designated fire rings only and are subject to local weather and fire safety conditions. Firewood is available for purchase at the campground store. For the protection of local trees and natural areas, outside firewood may be restricted due to regional firewood transport recommendations and pest concerns. Please never leave campfires unattended and fully extinguish fires before leaving your campsite or retiring for the evening.

Campground Speed Limit

For the safety of all guests, pets, and children, campground speed limits must be observed at all times. Please drive slowly and carefully throughout the campground, especially during evening hours and near campsites.

After-Hours Arrivals

Late arrivals are welcome. Guests arriving after office hours will typically find a reservation packet and campground map prepared for them near the office entrance.If you expect to arrive late, please contact the campground prior to arrival whenever possible so we can help ensure a smooth check-in experience.

Trash Disposal

Please help us keep the campground clean and enjoyable for all guests by placing trash in designated dumpsters and disposal areas.Do not leave trash or food items outside overnight, or in fire rings as they may attract wildlife and pests.

Laundry Facilities

Laundry facilities are available on-site for registered campground guests. Guests appreciate the convenience of having laundry access available during longer stays and extended road trips.Please help keep laundry facilities clean and available for all campers.
