To ensure a relaxing camping experience near Acadia National Park, please keep noise levels low and outdoor lighting dim during quiet hours. Disruptive guests may be asked to leave.

Note: The State of Maine restricts the import of firewood unless it is treated or certified. This helps prevent the spread of invasive insects such as the emerald ash borer (EAB) and Asian long-horned beetle (ALB), which can damage Maine's forests and wildlife habitats.

Number of Guests per Reservations:

For the safety and comfort of all guests, occupancy limits are strictly enforced at our Bar Harbor campground.
  • RV & Tent Sites: Maximum of 6 guests per site
  • Camping Cabins: Maximum of 6 guests
  • Deluxe Cabins: Maximum of 8 guests

Site capacity includes all registered guests and any day visitors. If your site is at maximum capacity, additional visitors are not permitted.Additional guidelines:
  • Only 1 sleeping unit per site
  • Tents are not permitted on RV or cabin sites
  • Each site includes parking for one vehicle
  • Please call ahead if towing a flatbed trailer (overflow parking is not available)

Wildlife Awareness:

While camping near Acadia National Park, you may encounter a variety of wildlife. For your safety and theirs, please keep a respectful distance.
  • Keep pets on a leash
  • Store food, trash, and cooking supplies securely
  • Do not feed wildlife

Protecting wildlife ensures a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests.

Propane Fill:

Propane is available at the main office during operating hours, weather permitting.

Trash / Recycling Policy:

Please place bagged trash at the roadside of your campsite by 12:00 PM for pickup.Due to frequent wildlife activity, do not leave trash outside after this time. Recycling stations are located throughout the campground—look for “Refundables” and Clynk signage.

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellation Policy (Camping Near Acadia National Park):If you need to cancel your reservation, please call 207-288-3520 before the deadlines below to receive a refund of your deposit, minus a $20 administrative fee. Email and text cancellations are not accepted.Cancellation Deadlines:
  • RV & Tent Sites: 7 days notice (by 4:00 PM prior to arrival)
  • Cabins & Accommodations: 14 days notice (by 4:00 PM prior to arrival)
  • Additional Details:
  • Late cancellations result in forfeiture of deposit
  • No refunds for early departures or no-shows
  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method
  • Policies may change during major travel disruptions
  • Holidays and special events may have different requirements

Golf Cart Policy:

Golf carts, ATVs, and scooters may be used on-site if they meet the following requirements:
  • Driver must be of legal driving age in Maine
  • Vehicles must be registered and follow campground rules
  • Must be parked at your assigned campsite

Pet Policy:

We proudly offer pet-friendly camping near Acadia National Park. Your furry friends are welcome!
  • All well-behaved pets are welcome
  • Pets must be on a leash (maximum 8 ft)
  • Pets may not be left unattended
  • Owners must clean up after pets
  • Excessive barking or noise is not permitted

Pets are allowed at all RV and tent sites, as well as in select cabins and Airstream rentals. Other animals must be approved in advance.

Ocean Swimming & Waterfront Access:

Enjoy ocean access during your stay at our oceanfront campground in Bar Harbor.Guests can swim, relax, and explore the shoreline via Pebble Beach or Sunset Patio. Waterfront site guests may access directly from their campsite.Please note:
  • Swimming is at your own risk
  • No lifeguard is on duty
  • Please respect other guests and avoid walking through occupied campsites

Campground Speed Limit:

5 MPH throughout the campground for guest safety.

Michael Botkins

Welcome to Bar Harbor/Oceanside KOA Holiday!

Michael has been with KOA for over 8 years and is excited to join the Bar Harbor/Oceanside KOA family. He previously worked at the Trinity Lake KOA as the general manager. Before joining the world of outdoor hospitality Michael had never camped, but he took that leap of faith and started building his career at KOA. Michael worked several positions at KOA before being promoted to General Manager at Trinity Lake and is excited about the move to Bar Harbor/Oceanside KOA. Michael believes that his campers become his family and is looking forward to the camping season. Be sure to say hi when you see him out and about around the campground greeting and getting to know guests!
