What a beautiful peaceful place to stay. The staff was very friendly as helpful. The grounds were clean and well maintained. The neighboring wetlands were teaming with birds to watch. We will definitely stay again on our next trip.

Not a bad campground for a night, but don’t expect much. Owners are neither dog friendly or people friendly. Pool hasn’t been repaired since it collapsed 2 years ago.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thank you for your stay at our campground. I'm sorry we didn't allow your dog to run freely around the campground and had to remind you several times that your dog must remain on a leash. This is a common place rule at all campgrounds I have visited. We have a large dog park for off leash running.

Had a wonderful visit, met a couple from Bethliham, GA , who live near us from Tallahassee, FL. Good friends, exchanged addresses, etc. and hoping to see them again soon. Neat place to camp!

Fantastic large campsite and open spaces especially if you have a dog that likes to walk YOU around. Super staff and very friendly, we will definitely stay here again if we’re in the area

We would like to come back here & stay longer. So peaceful with wonderful South Dakota feel. Long flat sites. Plenty of room for slides and awnings. We didn't try the restaurant but the menu looked excellent, great variety, good prices. They deliver your order to your RV. Not as kid oriented as many other KOA's but that was a plus for us older travelers. Nice size K9 park. Friendly helpful staff.

No heat in bathrooms. Couldn’t take showers. Electronic paper towel dispenser didn’t work right. Men’s and women’s. No means to dry hands, no blowers. Otherwise good spacing between sites, good grassy areas. Very pleasant staff.

We love this campground. Quiet and relaxing with great open space. The perfect spot to unwind after a days travel.

The staff was very friendly. The restroom and showers were clean. Not only did they deliver the pizza their kitchen made for me, it was excellent and FULL of toppings! About twice the toppings you would get from a chain. Overall great experience!

The staff was very nice and the campground seemed clean. My biggest complaint is I had to pay for all 3 of my kids. Usually you get 2 adults and 2 kids with your site but I was charged extra for each kid. And they have a playground and pool so it seemed like a family campground. I would not stay here again because of that I would drive a few more miles to stay were I am not charged extra for kids

Very nice place, very nice people. In the literal middle of nowhere, which is kind of awesome. Beside the 1880sTown (a must-see), and as far as I know, nothing else. Beautiful prairies. Great stop before or after a trip to mt rushmore or devils tower.

Everyone was nice but when you pay a decent amount of money to stay It would be nice to have more than 3channels to watch. When I went to the laundry room that TV had more than enough channels. I have a smart TV so it couldn’t be a problem

We showed up when it was raining and was greeted by a nice lady and was given good instructions to our site. Then our site was so muddy from poor gravel we ended up with an extra fifty pounds of mud as a memory, the police golf cart was a bit trailer park.

Beautiful facility with excellent in site manager. Stacy was professional, personable, and extremely well organized. The entire experience was first class. We would recommend this site to everyone traveling through this part if the country. Perry Pilgrim

We had a great spot next to the water and were able to enjoy the wildlife. There were geese families, rabbits, many other birds, mules and a camel across the water in a pasture. Didn’t get a chance to visit the 1880 Town, but sure that would have been enjoyable too!

A wonderful couple checked me in, filled my propane tank, and made sure I had everything I needed. I had a beautiful view of the lake. It was a very clean campground and I enjoyed my stay!!

Amazing and friendly staff. Clear evidence that they take great pride in the grounds and the park, the flowerbeds were SOOOOO beautiful. Great for a stop in when traveling to the amazing places in South Dakota

They advertise “lake view” and charge more for it, it’s a pond, but the worst part is you have to put your front window the opposite direction of the pond. I asked about it, the answer was “you can see some of it from the side window”. Bottomline, they charge more for a pond view but won’t let you face your large front window toward it, our big rig looked right into the camper in fron

Thank you for visiting our campground and Freeman Lake, which is a 66 acre lake that surrounds two sides of our campground. It is unfortunate that the only window you have in your camper is in the front. Our site description states, FHU site with lake view from side and rear of RV on gravel pad.

Stopped here on our way to the Badlands. The owners and staff were so very kind and clearly they are investing back into the park with improvements. We enjoyed the pizza they delivered to our site. The sunset on the prairie was beautiful. Very dog friendly and convenient to I90 and the 1880's town (also very dog friendly). Very good WIFI

We loved it here. Staff is exceptionally friendly, the camp restaurant is great, close to NP, very dog friendly, beautiful night sky.

The folks who run this place are exceedingly friendly and helpful (and they have a cute dog). We stayed in a comfy little cabin for two nights and had a great experience. No big stores nearby, so make sure you pack all you need for your stay. The camp store has some extra food, small supplies, and souvenirs.
