The trailhead for this well maintained system is on US 19 where the road goes up to cross over the Cross Florida Barge Canal. Go east and you'll arrive at Felburn Park, which connects with the paved Withlacoochee Bay Trail and also a network of footpaths around a sizeable pond where birds are active in morning and evening. Go west and its a five mile hike, ride or drive (on a parallel gravel road) to Withlacoochee Bay on the Gulf of Mexico. Canopied piers provide excellent platforms for viewing a variety of fishing birds and the vistas are magnificent.
