Spring has officially sprung here at the Hattiesburg-Okatoma KOA, and we’re embracing the season with open arms! April is one of our favorite months at the campground—perfect for unplugging, relaxing, and reconnecting with the great outdoors.
With Earth Day just around the corner, it’s the perfect time to “Get Back to Nature.” Our ponds are full and teeming with fish, so grab a pole and cast a line—you might just earn catch of the month recognition! The trees are lush, the flowers are blooming, and nature is putting on a show just for you.
Looking to get out on the water? Spring is also an ideal time for a canoe or kayak trip down the Okatoma River! Paddle your way through gentle currents, enjoy the scenic views, and watch for wildlife along the banks—it’s a peaceful, refreshing way to spend the day and a favorite activity for our guests.
If you're into bird watching, you're in for a treat. The hummingbirds are back in town, zipping from bloom to bloom, and butterflies are dancing through the air, adding even more color to your campsite. Bring your binoculars and take it all in—the sights, the sounds, and the peacefulness of spring in Southern Mississippi.
The weather is just right this time of year: warm sunny days perfect for hiking and the pool, followed by cooler evenings made for campfires, s’mores, and stargazing.
