Head northwest on US-76 W to GA 288 W. Exit onto Fodder Creek Rd. Stay on Fodder Creek Rd. for 3.5 mi and the campground will be on the left on Gander Gap Rd.

About 45 minutes away (23 miles), from Hiawassee KOA, the Bavarian-style town of Helen leans all the way into the holidays, starting with the Lighting of the Village, November 27, 2026, followed by the Helen Christmas Market, November 28-29. Santa arrives at Riverside Park to flip the switch on the town's lights, while the market brings European-style vendor stalls, mulled wine, and handmade gifts to alpine streets. A genuinely different holiday backdrop than anywhere else in Georgia.
