Full Moon Nights celebrate the cultural and natural heritage of White Sands with live music, guest speakers, and ranger-led programs. On these nights, the park extends its hours by two hours, allowing visitors to enjoy the dunes under the moonlight even after the program concludes.


Event Details


What to Bring
  • Seating: No seating is provided. Please bring camp chairs or blankets to sit on the surrounding dunes.
  • Supplies: Coolers with food and drinks are welcome.
  • Visibility: Bring a flashlight or glow sticks to safely navigate back to your car in the dark.
  • Clothing: Temperatures drop rapidly at night; bring extra layers and dress for changing weather.

Safety & Accessibility
  • Accessibility: An accessible ramp is provided near the stage for wheelchairs and strollers. Designated parking is available for vehicles with disability placards.
  • Pedestrian Safety: For your safety, use designated walkways and do not sled in or around the parking area during the event.
  • Weather: In the event of a storm, avoid high dunes. Programs may be canceled due to weather or missile range activity; call 575-479-6124 ext. 236 for status updates.
  • Pets: Non-disruptive, leashed pets are welcome.

Departure

To ensure a safe exit, all vehicles must turn right when leaving the amphitheater parking area at the end of the program.
