Clean!!!! Gravel roadway, cement patio with patio table & chairs & well cared for grass at each end of the patio. Not crowded in, well defined area with curbing. Playground for kids, pet areas fenced, no pet area if you prefer that. Trees are still young, beautiful view of mountain. Highway & train noise mitigated by small fan or ambient noise maker. Campground and staff were very nice and acommodating, however, due to the highway and the train so near by, it was rather noisy.

This was our first time to Lava. We chose this location because of the higher ratings than other campgrounds nearby. We were not disappointed! We stayed at the newer sites with the cement patios which were larger and had more room than a lot of the lower sites. They were clean and set up with a table and chairs which was not expected and nice to have. Would come back again 100%!

Great camp ground, friendly staff, but the only thing that does not work for us is the nightly trains. Four to be exact which does not allow you much sleep.

Really enjoyed our stay! The park is clean and quiet and kid friendly. Good bathrooms and laundry, a short walk to town, but worth it.

Please do what you can to fix your showers. They spray so far and full the small seat gets soaking wet & leaves no place to sit to get dressed, clothes get wet, and if you have small children with you all hope of a great experience is gone in very wet moments

The campground was well maintained and clean. Staff immediately cleaned the campsites after guests left so the area was ready for the next campers. The walking path made access to town and the pools very easy. The only drawback was the busy highway and train traffic, but anywhere you stay in Lava Hot Springs would experience the noise. We really enjoyed our stay.

Grounds are immaculate! Easy check-in. The check-in person quickly found my information and was prepared to show me where to park our fifth wheel. There was a specific site to park the truck right next to the fifth wheel. Had a small, fenced-in grass area for dogs. Our specific back-in site was very private with grass and a picnic table. We were located on the upper part of the park.

Really nice tent site with level grass tent spot. Grounds and bathrooms beautifully clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Took off a star for highway and train noise, but I know this is not something the management can control.

The stay was great, but damaged my RV on the cement abutments at # 204. If you could do something with them, they are too high and they protrude out too far into the road. It is very difficult to avoid them if you have a large trailer.

Great place to stay. Pulled in around 3:30PM, walked to downtown, took a few tube rides, went to the hot springs and made dinner back at the campground.

We will be back, we had a blast! Loved the area and our cabin was perfect. My boys (6 and 3) absolutely loved the bunk beds too. It was roomy enough for our family of four and the patio was a great addition to relax and watch the sunrise and sunset.

Our cabin was great, EXCEPT, we had to go buy an air mattress and some blankets because the clerk had already handed out all the extra bedding... If I'm paying over $300 per night, I expect the linens to be available... that is basic. I knew this going in and my full sheet would not fit the futon (which isn't really loveseat size, as indicated... more like a wide chair...there is space for wider.

Wonderful location…we had a blast. The cabin was great for our family but I would not call these cabins “one bedroom” since the floor plan is open to the whole cabin. It is one shared space.

Loved the amply shaded campground by huge trees and the Portneuf River bordering it. It is also so conveniently located near the hot springs attraction. Just amazing! The KOA staff was friendly and very helpful. We would love to stay here again.

We absolutely loved our stay! The cabins were the perfect size, we loved the deck equipped with gas grill and fire for roasting marshmallows. This was camping made easy and totally our style! We came with our three kids, ages 7, 4 and 1 and had plenty of space. Also loved how close the cabins were to floating the river and the hot pools. Great location, clean and fun, hope to stay again!

We were in the upper new sites which is very nice. In a few years the trees will provide some shade. People were very nice. Negative was you had no access to the river unless you went thru someone’s site and you had to walk or drive to the hot springs. I thought they were closer. Could be my mistake.

My friends and I had a really nice time here! Clean facility, relaxing environment, and plenty of nice amenities. I plan on returning here for many fun future activities!

Great little cabin. Nice to have bbq grill. Close to river which made for a nice view. Did find it odd that the little patio back right up to a fairly step grade next to the river, seems like this could have a hazard especially with little kids, found it odd that there was no safety railing to prevent you from falling if you got too close, might be an issue with little kids

The paw pens you charge for are a joke. Nothing but a small fenced area protecting your huge pine trees that take up the whole area. No room for dogs. Plus you allowed guests with pit bulls and Dobermans to run free unleashed. One of your employees witnessed both dogs unleashed and did nothing. The Doberman came into my space when I had my dogs out. Not acceptable.

We always enjoy staying here. Although it’s a destination for most, it’s generally a stopover for us when traveling in and out of the state. Love all the improvements and new big level sites!

Amazing experience. Our cabin backed up to the river and a beautiful waterfall. Loved having the gas grill, outside table and chairs, rockers and firepit.
