nice restrooms. showers, crews, etc. rated them a ten (10)..... very noisy area we were in, by a major highway (trucks using exhaust brakes, trains)..... the worst item in the 'wings' added to the camping sites. i was told they were to designate parking areas. but i couldn't get into the spot. actually had to put truck in four wheel and climb the concrete barrier around the grass

The rates are ridiculous!! This is camping not a 5 star resort. The staff is great & knowledgeable. I hope they are paid well, for the prices we paid. We have stayed here before & didn’t get a KOA discount.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. We come back each year and enjoy the accommodations. The only real complaint we had was the BBQ grill outside L32 (I think that's where we stayed. It's the cabin that sleeps 6) wouldn't light. I had to borrow matches from some other campers and get it to light. But overall, it's a great place and we enjoy it. This is probably our 10th year coming up.

The campground is well maintained by friendly staff. There is a busy train track across the road, so you might want earplugs at night. We stayed in an older, smaller mid-grade deluxe cabin along the road. It had a nice large mini-fridge but only one rather inconvenient cupboard and drawer. The newer same-sized cabins along the river have a sink and smarter shelving. But we had better shade!

We loved the Lava Hot Springs East KOA. It is in a great place and close to everything! The cabins were nice to stay in. The only problem was the cabin shock when you walked from one end of it to any other and the blinds on the door did not close all the way so we put a blanket on it for privacy. There is a great BBQ area with a fabulous view, table and 4 chairs as well as two rocking chairs.

We love staying at Lava East KOA and have been staying here during the 4th of July weekend for many years. The good: Very walkable to the town and river, concrete patio sites with tables overlooking the river. The negative: Prices keep getting higher and do not include a swimming pool or cable & the trees leave sap on your RV. They say certain sites have size restrictions when they shouldn't.

Absolutely loved our little deluxe cabin. Love the whole area. I even learned to love the sound of the trains.

Great access to down town. Bit pricey for normal KOA so if you are not here to go tube or swim at water park you may want to limit your stay. If you are using local activities then worth the premium price

My brother & his family were going to stay here, but their daughter got covid & they weren’t able to come. We were very upset that we couldn’t cancel or switch it to another weekend.

This KOA is so crowded and it is right next to the train track and trains drive by all night long and they are so loud! It was expensive. And our spot was so small we barely fit. We will not be staying here again.

Nice park but we were directed to enter the park in the wrong direction which made it very difficult to get into our pull in site. Sites are surrounded by high curbing which make it difficult for a big rig pulling. The campground is well-maintained and very clean!

The camp site was nice enough but there was no warning about the noisy trains that kept us up most of the night.

Beautiful cabins next to the river with pleasant, comfortable patios within earshot of a waterfall that provided musical accompaniment for our stay. (Occasionally punctuated by the roar of a train, but that was a minor irritant.) It was a nice gathering spot for our extended family reunion.

Lava, Idaho KOA was available, but very close, dirt parking with little grass in rv spot. Shade was good, but noise was too much. Extremely over-priced! Hook-ups were average. Won't ever return to the KOA and I visit Lava often. Sorry, the host was helpful, but the park was too expensive for the general rental.

Lovely newly built facilities, great staff, wonderful location, darling little town with lots of fun and food. Only tiny comment about the trees dropping sticky sap that washed off with water. Hope I can return one day and reserve one of the riverside sites.

My family and I have always just done the cabins at KOAs and they are nice. But I just recently purchased a motorhome and rented a spot there. It was nice! Clean, shade and more than enough room. The staff was Awesome! Thanks again and we will be back!!

Stayed two nights. Wonderful showers and bathrooms. Lots of shade in most spots. Great for dogs. We had a shade dog kennel at our site. Loved it for our labs. You will will need a vehicle to go in to town with children it’s a long walk to the water park. We will definitely return.

The area was wonderful, the staff was amazing and friendly but I can't justify spending nearly $160 on a cabin that backs right up to the highway and shakes every time a vehicle passes by and even more so when the rail goes through! I would definitely stay here again in a tent site though:)

Very nice camp ground. Clean, quiet, and everyone was very pleasant. Special shout out to Lucas (grounds boy). He was exceptionally nice, polite and seemed to be a very hard worker. He was always busy and still made time to say hello, goodmorning or just wave. Loved our spots (T5 & T6). The bathroom and wash area very clean. We will definitely love to stay here again.

It was going alright, except we were without water until late Monday evening. I understand there were some repairs needed as I talked to someone who was walking around but It was over 100 degrees out and the time for repairs were from around 10am to probably 8 or 9 pm without water. Since we only stayed a day and a half most of our stay was without water.

Spot was tiny, right next to main highway and way over priced for what we were getting. Lava campground up the street which we stayed at last time was much better and much cheaper

Very friendly, clean and easy to navigate. Highly recommend this KOA and little town. We had a blast on the river.

We have glamped at the lava east KOA every year for the past 8 years. This is the most beautiful, clean and friendly staffed KOA we have ever stayed at. We will be back again for certain!

We enjoyed our stay. It was very clean and the staff were so sweet and helpful. The only downside was the campground was packed. Our neighbors were loud and had 4 extra cars with no respect towards our space because they had “paid to be there too.” Other than that the KOA was great. We will be back

The campground was very nice and clean. The lower level along the river (spots 3-14) seemed to be the prime and quieter spots. We stayed up at the higher area, which seems newer and was very loud from the highway noise. Made it difficult to sleep. Location was good for being close to town but not IN town like the other KOA. If staying here, be sure to get a prime back-in spot on the river!

Although the site was clean, the bathrooms did not get the level of care they should have. I looked at the same glob of hair in a drain the 3 days I was there. I would expect something better than a quick mop down. The train which runs several times a day was an annoyance as was the roadway right at the complex.

Amazing experience. Our cabin backed up to the river and a beautiful waterfall. Loved having the gas grill, outside table and chairs, rockers and firepit.
