We really love staying here!! We were in L40, very nice cabins. But the mattress on the bed is horrible, I get that we are "camping" but Im sure you could provide a little more comfort with the mattress. It was so bad we slept on the bunk beds the next night just to get some sleep. Also the grill outside really needs to be cleaned there is so much stuff down inside them that that they don't work

We stayed in the loft for four nights. I am not a fan of the loft. The A/C didn't work efficiently and the bedroom was extremely hot. It didn't have an air vent. So to get the air, the door had to be opened and we needed a fan. Since its on the second floor above the front desk, it is very hot. The deck is nice. The beds are uncomfortable and we kept bumping into the frames.

Had such a good time, lots to do close to the KOA and walking distance. Our cabin was quaint, clean and supplied with all the basics we needed for our stay. Would definitely recommend the KOA campground.

Cabin very well done - somehow I missed that I needed my own knives, coffee, salt and pepper. We brought bedding and towels though. Queen bed was horrible, though. Just horrible. For $140 a night, I expected a good bed. Patio very cute, though, and we really appreciated the BBQ - although the lighter part of it was not working so I had to find a match.

Traveled from bear lake to lava hot springs to spend a day rafting the river. Rented a cabin for our family of four. Very comfortable, had micro/fridge, a/c for warm summer afternoon and river view with nice patio to enjoy evening fire, clean bathhouse and well kept grounds. Small playground with tether ball and volleyball.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. We come back each year and enjoy the accommodations. The only real complaint we had was the BBQ grill outside L32 (I think that's where we stayed. It's the cabin that sleeps 6) wouldn't light. I had to borrow matches from some other campers and get it to light. But overall, it's a great place and we enjoy it. This is probably our 10th year coming up.

The campground is well maintained by friendly staff. There is a busy train track across the road, so you might want earplugs at night. We stayed in an older, smaller mid-grade deluxe cabin along the road. It had a nice large mini-fridge but only one rather inconvenient cupboard and drawer. The newer same-sized cabins along the river have a sink and smarter shelving. But we had better shade!

We loved the Lava Hot Springs East KOA. It is in a great place and close to everything! The cabins were nice to stay in. The only problem was the cabin shock when you walked from one end of it to any other and the blinds on the door did not close all the way so we put a blanket on it for privacy. There is a great BBQ area with a fabulous view, table and 4 chairs as well as two rocking chairs.

Beautiful cabins next to the river with pleasant, comfortable patios within earshot of a waterfall that provided musical accompaniment for our stay. (Occasionally punctuated by the roar of a train, but that was a minor irritant.) It was a nice gathering spot for our extended family reunion.

The area was wonderful, the staff was amazing and friendly but I can't justify spending nearly $160 on a cabin that backs right up to the highway and shakes every time a vehicle passes by and even more so when the rail goes through! I would definitely stay here again in a tent site though:)

We stayed at a Deluxe Cabin on the River and loved the View and set up. We also loved being close to the Hot Springs and Town. Staff too Great!

We rented a deluxe cabin on the river.It was beautiful just a bit disappointed we were told there was a stovetop but misinformed. It all worked out and we had a great trip!

We love the cabins at the Lava KOA. They are always clean and well maintained. The beds are comfortable and the view of the river off the decks exceptional. Having a fire pit and grill makes for more outdoor fun. The staff is friendly and helpful. We will be back again and again. Thanks KOA.

Everything was great - except for the loud A/C unit. It will be the only thing that keeps me from booking at the same location in the summer. I loved the view, the proximity to town, the clean cabin, the kitchenette, and the outdoor seating with a fire pit and grill. If the A/C unit was upgrading, I would stay here regularly.

We stayed in the newer deluxe cabins, it was nice overlooking the river, new updated cabins with kitchen including the sink and fridge, it was fantastic, the train noise was very noticable in this cabin at night, but doable.. Friendly people, pet friendly, nice walkable location to the town, close to the hot springs. I would recommend this KOA.

The cabin was absolutely beautiful and we loved our stay. We did find that the propane fireplace on our back patio was broken and would not stay lit, we also had a hard time with the water pressure in the shower. It seemed to be way too high and it was hard to shower. Overall we had a great stay and will visit again!

The campground was great though the trains passing by are very loud. The cabin was nice though the supplied kitchen stuff was very minimal. There were only 2 cups and glasses for 4 people, 3 forks, etc. A sponge and towel to wash and dry the dishes we used would have been good. We were traveling with our own but many people might not

We had four groups wanting to camp next together. It was not possible because we had a trailer, 2 deluxe cabins, and one smaller cabin. The cabins were very nice. The trailer spot was nice but small. Would have preferred to have our 4 groups together. We hope to find a way to make it work next time so our small kids can play together. The grounds are kept nice.

The only complaint I had was there were people parking in the lot without a pass. No one ever checked for passes.

This site was amazing. I stayed in the new little cabins, and they had a great view of the river. I loved hearing the water run while reading a book and drinking my coffee every morning of my visit. Also, the town of Lava is a five minute walk so its close to "civilization" while also being a quiet place to relax without the "busy bustling" of the town.

Amazing experience. Our cabin backed up to the river and a beautiful waterfall. Loved having the gas grill, outside table and chairs, rockers and firepit.
