Pretty basic camping. Very dusty campsite. Needed to be graveled.

A family reunion with family members that will not live long enough to be with us by next summer. Reservations 6 months ago 3 spots, 2 pull thrus, even called to confirm. Turns out - Not together, NO pull thru, took days to get us together. The owners are nice people but over whelmed and have no idea what they are doing. I have loved KOA, but this one is horrible not up to KOA standards.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

A few corrections for facts. Pull-thrus reserved 3 months ahead were changed to back-ins when your stay dates changed a month later. You were informed at that time. 4 sites, 3 were together. At check-in one of your group cancelled one of the together sites leaving you separated. We worked all weekend with a full park to get you together. You are correct in saying it was over-whelming.

We ended up here by happy accident and absolutely loved our stay. Clean facilities, super helpful and friendly staff and wow- what a beautiful lake! Easy lake access made our stay perfect and it was only a short drive to Crater Lake. We would definitely recommend this camp to a friend.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Sometimes the best stays are the accidental ones. Glad you found us! Hope you can come back and see us again.

Such a nice campground. Employees were very nice. The only thing I didn't care for was some of the rv spots were very small and others were very big. Over all a great campground!
Jul 18, 2019
Very nice wooded forest, bring bug spray. Beautiful lake with lots of rental options. We caught trout, saw deer and a beautiful night sky. Very friendly and accommodating owners! Kids loved it, dog loved it and we loved it too!
Jul 17, 2019
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Jul 14, 2019
too much dirt and dust and bugs.
Jul 14, 2019
This is not a KOA and should not be in KOA system. Sites unlevel and unpaved. Sewer connection too high for tank drainage. 30 amp sevice does not supply true 30 amp load. Mowquitoes worse than Alaska. Uncordial ownes. This is not a KOA.
Jul 13, 2019
Put in paved lanes, asphalt, to cut down on the dust, other than that it went well
Jul 13, 2019
Lots of mosquitoes and dirt. No grass. The lake is pretty and the boat rental was fun.

It is rustic. And that is good...No electronics, lots of nature, and camp dogs and cat. My kids were forced to do something other than electronics, and that is good. In this day and age, to have a place where a family has to entertain themselves, is a welcome anomaly. Great location to Crater Lake (about 35 minutes) and a dozen water falls within an hour. Will come again!!! Thank You!

Nice campground, great staff, close to the Lake.
Jul 08, 2019
awesome under the trees. nice campground and out of the way from the hustle and bustle.
Jul 08, 2019
Great campground on a beautiful lake. Easy lake access with good swimming areas. Plenty to do in the local area. Bad things: low water pressure. Several trees in the way when maneuvering in and out of the sites and in front of slides and awnings. Maybe some Trash cans near swim areas.

This is an amazingly beautiful campground. The owners are friendly and the facilities are clean and well maintained. We rented a kayak for a an early morning row around the lake!! This is a remote location and not a “fancy” KOA, but if you are looking to reconnect with nature and enjoy the beauty of Crater Lake, this is a great place to do it from. And yes there are dirt and bugs!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We so appreciated your comments. Kayaking our lake is great way to experience it. Yes the Forest has dirt and bugs. Always has, always will.
Jul 03, 2019
Staff is very friendly, and helpful. Loved the lake although for me a bit too cold to enter. Lots of mosquitos! Sites are spacious. We enjoyed the trails around the campground. Over all we had a good stay. Thank you.
Jul 03, 2019
The sites are tight. the mosquitos were huge and many. an older KOA without many amenities other than lake access.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Were sorry you missed out on our boat rentals, hiking and biking trails around the lake, 6 waterfall hikes and the hot springs. Maybe you'll have more time to see them the next time through.

Very hard to maneuver into spot. Lots of mosquitoes which they need to spray. The owners were very nice.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Were sorry the mosquito's got to you. Being located on National Forest property limits, slows and/or prohibits many things in the operation of our campground. Treating for Mosquito's is one of them. It would also be ineffective as there are thousands of acres of forest and lots replacements mosquito's for any you kill in June and July.

Excellent place to stay Very clean restrooms

Beautiful lake. The campground is nice but will be much better if and when they are able to tar or at least gravel where the RVs sit because right now it's that fine sandy dirt that gets over everything. We rented pontoon for the day and kids went swimming. Water was so cold but beautiful and clear. Bring your mosquito spray but overall a beautiful back to nature camping trip.

Great rustic location, friendly and helpful staff. RV spaces are pretty spacious. Nice quiet location.
Jun 26, 2019
Lemolo lake was a wonderful campsite with easy access to Crater Lake, which was our destination. There is not much around and it's off the beat and path so be prepared. The owners were very friendly and excellent hosts.
Jun 26, 2019
Nice enough park but it doesn’t yet live up to the KOA’s we have stayed in before. It would have been nice if I was told the showers needed tokens when checking instead of as I was standing naked in a shower trying to figure out how to turn on the water...and of course the office was already closed.
Jun 26, 2019
What a nice place. Definitely off the beaten path (which is good) and beautiful. Owners have done a great job in the short time they have owned the place. Would have been a perfect stay if there were less mosquitos, but I don't think anywhere around would be different. Highly recommend!

What a wonderful find. We are traveling from San Antonio to Tacoma Washington. We visited crater lake and stayed here via going to Salem Oregon. We stayed an extra day because it was so beautiful and the owners were fabulous. Highly recommend!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Were so glad you found us. Hope you can come back again.
Jun 25, 2019
Jim and Anita are great hosts. The campsites are roomy with dirt floors and rock fire pits. The bathrooms/showers are some of the cleanest I have seen. Lemola lake is great for canoeing and paddleboarding. The area has beautiful waterfalls and hiking trails for all levels. Crater Lake is spectacular and a must see. The only negative is the mosquitoes, they are relentless.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Since your stay we have replaced all the fire pits with new fire rings with grill grates. We agree, the mosquito's can be relentless certain times of year.
Jun 24, 2019
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this KOA. The rv sites were very large, easy to navigate into and close to the lake. The owners and all of the staff were very attentive and friendly! I grew up camping at this lake and there new owners have drastically improved the campsites! I would recommend staying here and can’t wait to see the improvements that are continuing to be made.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

THANKS! We're making improvements as fast as the Forest Service will allow us. Keep coming back, you'll continue to see upgrades, while keeping true to our "real camping" theme.
Jun 23, 2019
Great clean camp sites, Great people will come back again, again.
Jun 23, 2019
Your facility was great and the hosts were very nice But the mesquites were a killer. They ruined it for me.
Jun 22, 2019
Loved the campground. Loved that it was in the wilderness. The only drawback is the mosquitos. They were very thick. Would come back, but at a different time of the year. Jim and Anita were very friendly and accommodating.
Jun 21, 2019
Camp staff seems to be a bit unwelcoming, hookups requiring maintenance. Sewer connect is is higher than your trailer. You must first check your spot prior to accepting it... the camp assignment imakes no logical sense.
Jun 19, 2019
Jim and Anita where awesome. They made us feel like family.
Jun 19, 2019
Lovely forest park. GORGEOUS Lake. Wonderful hosts, Jim and Anita. Great little store. Plenty of firewood and ice. Rental Paddle boats, showers, laundry. Want to avoid mosquitoes? Come after mid July. I am definitely returning to Lake Lemolo KOA!!!

If you have a rig bigger than 28 ft don't even think of camping here. The sites are too short, streets very narrow. Apparently they do not have any pet policy in place. There were 2 dogs who just roamed from site to site getting into garbage etc. If there are policies in place, they certainly are not enforced. Not the campgrounds fault but mosquitoes this time of year are HORRIBLE!!!

The Lemolo KOA has wonderful hosts very friendly and the worker we met was also kind and helpful. The lake and surrounding area was gorgeous. I wasn’t thrilled with the mequitoes there was way too many with lots of bites . Which the owners can’t help. Services And stores 80 mile away. No tv . Rustic place for those who love outdoors.
Jun 15, 2019
Very primitive campground. Rough road coming in from main highway. State campgrounds in better shape. Very bad mosquito problem.
Jun 15, 2019
A beautiful campground with lots to do nearby. The. Roth entrance of Crater Lake is closest and was still closed due to snow, but we were able to drive to the west entrance and the drive is gorgeous. Our rig is large. If you have a large rig, you need to be a good driver to maneuver trees. Jim helped us to the site and was great!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Glad you had a good stay. Maneuvering big rigs through the forest always presents its challenges, but even the biggest rigs fit through with a little guidance, which were happy to provide.

Outstanding hosts and the location is perfect. Great RV sites. Rented a boat which made the stay even better. A place everyone should try Great camping with some nice amenities.
Jun 13, 2019
We have stayed at many KOA's around the country and enjoyed our stay at Lemolo KOA. Campsites are good sized and rest rooms/showers were clean. I understand the resort is new to the KOA family and a few things would improve it. The RV spots could be leveled better, took some work and a play area for the kid's and creating a beach. Quiet and peaceful. Worth a visit.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We are currently awaiting for approval from the Forest Service to install a playground. Being located on National Forest ground makes adding improvements a lengthy process, but we love our location and are glad you had a good stay with us.
Jun 04, 2019
Enjoyed the scenery very much. Not so much the mosquitos. Our 1st night we had a thunder storm and could not have a fire and had to take our canopy down. Next day was very nice and enjoyed a hike down by the Lake. Very pretty with Mt. In the background. I usually like to check out the stores but didn't make it back since check-in.
Jun 01, 2019
Despite the friendly people, this campground is not ready for being a KOA-campground. It's in the middle of nowhere, far from restaurants or supermarkets. We stood on forest soil, so after a rain shower all the mess of mud is coming in your RV. And the worst was the bathroom. They use tokens for a shower, but even after 3 tokens, we got no water at all. The entrance of Crater L. is much longer!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We ask ALL guests to please read our website that provides distances to restaurants & fuel (12 mi), Full Service grocery (80 mi). Snow levels at Crater Lake mean the N entrance is not open year round (also on our site). During your stay we had a solenoid malfunction in 1 shower. Were sorry your tokens didn't work. We would have gladly provided more for the other shower had we known.

Very nice little campground. Owners are wonderful people. Had a great time just too short a stay.

We got to stay here for an end of season trip, got in the last weekend before they closed for the season. It was a nice spot to camp in our RV and go see Crater Lake. We were greeted by the friendly camp host, they have a little store with snacks and stuff. Wide pull-through spots, with full hookups, which was nice. And good cell service, we were even able to stream netflix over our AT&T hotspot. Great little campground, I'd be happy to stay there again next time we are in the area.

Great place to get lost in the woods. Highly recommend it. One issue I had is the sewer hookup was higher than my drain so getting my tanks empty was a chore.
