Miles City KOA Journey Blog
Traveling with Pets? We have TWO KOA Paw Pen sites ready for you!
The Miles City KOA has new owners as of Sept 1/2022.
Penny and TJ Potts:. After 26 years in residential/commercial construction, it was time for a change. With the rising costs of building materials and new homes becoming unreasonable in costs, we looked for a life change. With a love for camping, we made a leap of faith and sold everything and purchased the Miles City KOA.
Over the first winter here we made some significant changes to the park. Bathroom renos are a huge one that guests will appreciate. Some updates to the building as well, which may be less exciting to campers, but more significant to the integrity of the buildings. Insulation was added to keep the building warmer in winter, and cooler in summer. New soffits and soffit lighting to bring the building into current times. A new coat of paint added a new look to the building as well.
The store is also got a refresh with new items and as many Made in Montana items as we can get our hands on. We are carrying local beauty products, honey, dog treats and more!
Laundry no longer has to be a boring, mundane task. We have added a flat-screen TV in the laundry room, as well as a give-a-book/take-a-book exchange. So, if you want to read while doing laundry or watch TV, the option is yours.
We also added Zingle to the KOA here in Miles City. What is Zingle you say? It is a messaging system built into our KOA booking system that allows customers to text us with issues, needs for firewood, or anything! We are just a text away for any needs or concerns that arise before, during or after your stay with us. We can be sure to give you a pre-warning text to take exit 135 off the interstate to avoid the 11'5" low bridge in town.
In the fall of 2023, we redid the cabins with new paint on the outside, new patio furniture and new inside furniture. We replaced the ceiling fans, added a microwave, TV, new vinyl plank flooring and a computer desk. They also got new fridges and decor as well. It is now a little piece of heaven while away from home.
We have also repainted all the pedestals, picnic tables and anything that was rust red to a nice modern grey. The store grows each year with new items, and we now carry Montana Beef from a local rancher as well as frozen pizzas in our store. Don't forget we also have Beer and Wine for our thirsty campers :) And for 2026 a slushy machine will be added
We will be adding a line of trees along the Dike Road to add some privacy to our campground. If the road gets dusty these trees will buffer that as they grow and fill out. We are excited for their arrival.
Stay tuned for more exciting news to come!
That doesn't mean this area has to always be empty. When you start reviewing camping options, your history will display here to help compare sites and find the best stay. You will be able to share your stay information with friends or family and save it for a later time if you have a KOA Account.
