  • If you don't care about a specific site, do not choose this option.  Again, you will always be on the site type you chose.
  • Lock a specific site for $25 per reservation.

Meet Your Hosts

The Hanawalt Family

Helping Families Make Memories Since 2000!

Mt. Gilead KOA is owned and operated by the Hanawalt Family. Chip, Bambi, and Chip Jr. manage and operate the day-to-day operations, and the rest of the family does their part with Macy and Aunt Sharon in the kitchen, Haley on social media, and grandkids picking up trash, helping with deliveries, and ensuring the playground is being used!

The park was purchased in 2019 as a golf course and broke ground in May 2019, turning it into a beautiful KOA. We opened our doors to our first customers in July of 2020 and have continued to improve the grounds each year to make it a place for families to enjoy, relax and create lasting family memories.

We entered the campground business in 2000 with one campground that the children grew up in and worked at, and eventually sold that to corporate KOA in 2021. We are very blessed to have fallen into this business and take pride in every site and amenity on the grounds.

We hope you make a camping reservation with us and, more importantly, cherish the experience your family has during your stay with us!
