They were friendly and helpful. I love they have golf carts that lead you to your site and help you park your camper.

This campground was well taken care of! Nice sites and staff were very friendly. The only reason I did 4 stars instead of 5 was that I was not informed at the time of reserving of the nightly train that comes through Monday through Friday 10:30 and 1am. We stayed Sunday night through Sunday and the nightly train scared our little kids everytime out of a sleep. Made for an extra tired trip.

This was by far my favorite KOA. The owners and staff were amazing. They helped us with any questions we had, gave good suggestions on local attractions and were just great people to be around. I have never felt such a sense of being part of their community as my family felt here. Can't wait to return.

Beautiful camp and very well maintained. It takes about 15 minutes to walk a loop of the camp. Only about 5 minutes from town and their beautiful beach on Lake Huron. We will be back!

We’ve been coming to the Oscoda KOA for years and it remains one of our favorite spots in Michigan. Their campground has great tree cover which provides plenty of shade. Their staff is some of the friendliest I’ve met and go out of their way to make your stay great.

We had a back in patio site. Site was great. Enjoy hiking at nearby Au Sable River. Crystal clear water. We will be back again!

We ended up not staying there. We pulled in saw the dirt sites and dirt roads and then the manager told us that my son and wife who have a cottage up there couldn't visit us. We packed up and went down the road to another campground with gravel sites much larger sites for half of the cost. Every year I ask myself why I renew my membership and I think we're done with KOA

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Our visitor policy was put in place at the start of the season due to covid-19. All of our Covid closures are listed on our website. We do have dirt/gravel roads and our sites are grass and sand as we are 1 mile from Lake Huron, we can not prevent sand from being present. Have a great summer.

Best campground we have been to yet. The Owners really care that you have a nice relaxing stay! We loved the tubing down the Ausable river and the Oscoda beach is beautiful... Which the owner's recommended . The Koa is right in the middle of everything and is a beautiful park. I will recommend this place to everyone! Thank you to all the staff for a very nice vacation.

We stayed 3 nights on our way to the UP. Loved it so much we booked 3 days on our return trip. Large lots, quiet park, the employees are all fantastic. You get escorted to your site and assistance with placement!! Loved that.

Every time we stay here, we never want to leave. There are plenty of activities for the kids to due. It is also very quiet, so that you are able to have a nice and relaxing night around bom fire.

This was a great camping experience and a wonderful campsite. Friendly and helpful personnel, good services, close to beaches and other fun activities (even with the pandemic). Hiked Iargo Springs - highly recommend. We are planning to come back!

The sites have a good amount of space. There are LOTS of trees, which is great for shade but sometimes can present as obstacles for tents and tables. The pool is TINY. Right now most every activity is closed due to covid prevention. There is canoe/kayak rental 5 minutes away in town as well as a wonderful beach if you are willing to leave the camp. The beach has a food truck &skateboard park

Very nice KOA, very family friendly, many great things for the kids to do! Was disappointed to see no hand sanitizers near the pool or camp store! Also, there should be disclaimer when booking that the camp ground is literally right next to train tracks with an active train!

I was very impressed by their quit hours and how well they enforced it. They saved me from a chance of my weekend being ruined by very loud, rude neighbors. I appreciated the staff making sure I was having a relaxing time. If they keep this up they will continue to be successful. Not everyone likes to listen to loud music all night. Thank you to the staff for a great weekend!

Had a very nice location way in the back with a pull threw and Patio ... only thing that wasn’t nice was the roads are pot hold to death and the store is very limited .

It would have been better if things were open for the kids so they had stuff to do (but we understand with the pandemic going on) and if the pool wasn't so crowded but other than that it was a nice stay and I'm sure we will be back maybe by then things will be open.

It was, an okay stay.... the train was annoying and woke us up every night a midnight. I asked a staff person about fishing in the area and he was not pleasant to talk with, gave no good information... seemed like I was interrupting his reclining in the golf cart & cigar time by asking him a question. Also, need better control over campers that tie out their dogs and let them bark all day.

It was great. Our site was clean and being right by the dishwashing station was really convenient. The employees were very nice and gave us plenty of resources for information.

I love going to this KOA! Robin, MIke, Jennifer and Mike are always helpful and accommodating. I have been going here for about 15 years and I keep going back because of the great family atmosphere they portray.

We had an amazing time. Our site was huge with a patio, swing, grill, table, chairs, and tons of trees to hang our hammocks on. We loved the train that went by, the pool, and the kids playground too. I met the owner who was so nice. The surrounding area was beautiful. We spent a day at the lake and a day canoeing on the river. We will definitely come back.

Get location except for the train that comes be every evening about midnight. They have made great improvements over the years. They do place you very close together in a campground with many open sites. about ft from my rig to next camper with slides out but there were sites all around empty. Fire pits are VERY close to the road about 6 ft.

We had a wonderful visit. It is a very clean, open and a great all around park! Our site was so nice, a great swing, a really nice table and chairs (colorful) with a fire pit and grill right there. It was quiet and relaxing. There were so many children- all well behaved! 'Tawas :) an awesome visit! Pam and Rich Dyer

Another great and relaxing stay at Oscoda/Tawas KOA, also once again handled the Covid situation seamlessly! The staff is so friendly and helpful, the grounds are very clean, and it is our favorite campground! Also really loved our site and booked it for another stay next week. We are excited to go back!

It was so beautiful! Loved the sites, the beach, the lake! My only disappointment was, as nice as the showers were, we never got a hot shower! Grrrrr!

We got our dates mixed up and arrived early for a 3week stay. The staff quickly found our reservation. Although they were full they found a temporary site for us and we were hooked up in no time. On our original arrival date the staff assisted us in getting to our new site with a very smooth transition. After a heavy rain I noted the staff filling in washed out areas with gravel. Very satisfied.

Fun camp for the family. The mining experience doesn't take long, but our son loved it. Very nice dog park area with some agility equipment. Our only complaint was the wood we purchased for a camp fire didn't burn well due to being too wet.
