Even with all of the rain we had this past week, it was wonderful time. Being able to rent a golf cart on site was perfect!! We had no issue with water pressure at all. Will definitely be back very soon and can’t wait to share with my parents.

Very nice property with updated amenities. The location is unique, very big and somewhat remote. The views over the sound are amazing. The staff was friendly and accommodating to help. We did not have any water pressure issues that some other reviewers describe. My only critiques are that the water front sites are very close to each other and at no fault to KOA - a tone of bugs.

The views are fantastic! The property itselfs needs some TLC. Another bath house/laundry on the other side of property. Employees just ride around on carts and do nothing to sites once someone checks out. Maintained the road and fill pot holes! Things should be done daily to keep the maintenance up on the place. Of course a pool would be nice.

Thank you for your feedback. We apologize that we only have 4 Bath Houses. The county has limited what we can build. We do have a great team that works very hard maintaining the property and resetting sites for the next guest. We are glad our staff is available to help our guests, anytime!

Cabin was great. Please keep them clean. They were super clean. I could see that the baseboards could be dirty. I would suggest being aware of that. The screened porch was dirty just from not being used I think and of course bugs. I would like to see the prices go down for the cabin considering there aren't amenities like a pool.

Booked in February based on amenities, just to arrive, and find out no boat...we planned our 1st obx trip and this was a disaster. We were also told we had deluxe waterfront, but the huge expanse of Marsh made it seem anything but waterfront. The spaces were packed so tight we could hear the dog fart from the camper next to us. Terrible experience for the amount we paid. Will never return!

Great staff. We stayed over Memorial Day weekend and didn’t have any water pressure issues. It was a great stay. They offer lots of activities for all ages. We’ll be back!

We stay here often since it is relatively close but feels like we are in another world. The waterviews are spectacular and take you away.

Had a great stay! Weather was amazing. Staff and campsites were wonderful. The only thing that keeps me from a 5 star rating it no pool.

Loved scenic drive in on Waterlily Road. Friendly greeting at check-in made our day after a long day of traveling. Golf cart rental made getting around campground easy and enjoyable and recommend to fellow campers. Scored site 11, a waterfront site, which has breathtaking sunrises and sunsets. So beautiful at night when the docks are lit up all along the waters edge.

If the County allows the campground to build as planned this will be an outstanding place to go. It's a little difficult to get to, and you should read the rules before and when you get there. I had a great time pursuing my hobby. Water pressure was fine, about 35 pounds. Erika and CJ are the best there is in this camp. Yeah it's buggy but you're CAMPING. It is a well maintained campground.

The bugs were terrible and I understand that can not be controlled but would have been nice to have been warned when we checked in. As large as the campground is they should extend the hours of the camp store especially on a holiday weekend.

We try our best to control the bugs but they seem to never stay constant enough for us to properly prepare. We are working on staffing to have our camp store to be able to stay open later on weekends!

Staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Our kids thoroughly enjoyed the playground, jump pad, arcade, and gift shop.

When we arrived we were told our site (which we had specifically reserved one year prior) changed which means we were separated from our group. When we booked the site we were told we would have the same site, I didn't know it would change without notification. The situation for our group was handled poorly. The sites are beautiful and the campground is great! The bugs were horrible - May flies!

So much fun! Well maintained campground with numerous activities. Sites were level and large for our big rig. Staff and campers were all friendly. Loved the bands on Friday and Saturday night. Will be back, but next time with grandbabies!

Website should be updated with the status of the boat shuttle. Charging a resort fee is ridiculous considering the lack of resort amenities

My wife and i and 3 friends stayed in a deluxe cabin on the water, memorial day weekend 2021. Although the weather was spotty, We found the cabin to be quite cozy.The kayaking in the sound awesome. The bands Friday Saturday were great. All in all Great Time....And Mondays SUNRISE PICTURE PERFECT>> THX KOA STAFF FOR ALL U DO>>

We had a wonderful stay. The campground was clean and very quiet. We had an issue with the cable, not the campground's fault, it turned out to be our TV, your employee to check it out was very professional and pleasant to deal with. We will be back again.

We enjoyed the campground and the staff were very friendly and helpful. However, there was one problem we encountered while there that caused me to only give four stars. Our neighbors would go away for the day and left their dog in the camper. It would bark the entire time (6 + hours) and we could not sit outside our camper to enjoy the outdoors. Otherwise, we enjoyed our visit.

We had a wonderful time. From food trucks to Bands and lots of swimming/paddle boarding, we couldn’t of asked for a better getaway. Our site was J4 inland which was very spacious. Will definitely be back.

Campground was fine, unfortunately weather didn't cooperate. So didn't have much time to enjoy outside the camper. But staff and facilities were very nice.

We wanted to like it, but we didn’t like it. There wasn’t a beach area to go hang out. We tried to swim but the dead bugs on the water were not appealing so we left and went to Nags Head instead. The bugs were unreal and we couldn’t stay outside for long. No pool or activities so we left a day early. This campground is NOT worth $129 per night. Maybe $45-60.

Waterfront RV site with family in a cabin nearby and another friend in RV site near us. Thanks for figuring placement out. Nice. Many activities however we did few. Two days of bad weather and bugs but no one could control that. Clean KOA. Nice staff. Loved the GM on site.

Loved the spot we had. Loved the view. The staff was so amazing, especially Dave. The biggest downer was the lack of amenities. I don’t stay at state parks because I like all the amenities and activities at a campground. However, I do realize this is their first full season and that there are plans for expansion. Maybe a little pricey until those amenities are available.

Nice campground. Sites are packed a little tightly together and the patio was a wooden deck set behind the motorhome. Prefer an actual pad at the door so you're not tracking sand inside all the time. Neighbors did not understand the meaning of only playing your music so you can hear it on their first night but someone complained and they were told to shut it down.

Only disappointment was the water taxi was not running and that was the reason we choose to stay there but stay was very nice and grounds were well taken care of.

We stayed in the first cabin. There was no view and no place to enjoy outside. The golf cart charging station is right along the side of the cabin. People cut through what little back side we had while we were trying to eat. For the amount of money we paid. That first cabin should be discounted. Horrible!

Beautiful views with great potential. Playground was great. Staff was rude with degrading nasty attitudes. Amenities weren’t available as advertised. Sandspurs and bugs were horrible.

I usually tell all of my camping friends about new campgrounds I find but I am keeping this one a secret…..if you want a camping trip to just take it easy and relax, this is the place to go! Please know, like other beach campgrounds, there are few trees, wind, bugs and on the weekends when the campground is full, the water pressure is minimal. Plan accordingly and you will have a great time.

Crummy campground. Dirt roads, need gravel, trash dumpster too far away, no trash pick up at camp sight, poor amenities for the price. Road in too narrow for RV’s,

The campground is great for families. They have a park, piers, dog park, shop, arcade, showers, everything! The customer service has always been great too, the people are kind. I would like to see more trees around the campground. But it was a great stay for a quick camping trip.
