Pros: I was able to check in early. The staff is very friendly, the grounds are pretty well maintained. Cons: the cabin was very dirty. The outdoor items looked as though they had never been cleaned. The amount of dirty that came off of heavy touch point was alarming. I cleaned and sanitized the room before bringing out items in and before we left. I expected more for the price.

There were ants in the cabin. There was mold on the shower curtain and also on the drain cover. I had called a couple of months ago and requested a cabin down on the lower end and did not get my request. Also called me the day of arrival to tell me to bring sheets and towels. I’m glad I had not left yet or would have a big expense upon arrival with having to go buy these kin of items.

We enjoyed our stay in the cabin. It was very clean & comfortable with a great view of the water. The staff is friendly & helpful. Thank you for a very nice stay. We look forward to coming back soon!

Rented an onsite RV. Disappointed in the cleanliness of the outside of RV, it was covered in bugs and webs. Had to clean the steps into the RV from spider webs in order to get in. Grill was not cleaned from last camper. Had to clean off the outside chairs in order to use them. Firepit had 3 huge mushrooms growing in it. Need to do better on maintenance prior to renting. Had fun though!

Staff very friendly and helpful. Camp was clean. LOVED our back in site with the Sound view! Also loved the Dog Park. Food and ice cream at the Cafe was yummy. Fellow Campers were really nice. It was a little buggy, but not like you read about in some reviews. Our children stayed in a cabin and they were comfortable and impressed with how clean it was.

Fantastic campground with beautiful views from every site. Great amenities and access to water activities. Was disappointed that the water taxi was not in operation, but we had a great time at the campground and didn't feel the need to leave the campground to have a fantastic and relaxing vacation. One suggestion I would make is to pressure wash your paddle boards or put a roof over them.

James was super helpful and every one at the front desk was so friendly! We actually booked two more stays before the end of next month. The golf cart trails are an awesome idea and were so much fun.

there are NO signs on the highway for the KOA!!!! The directions on the website are worthless! lost twice, called in and still got confusing directions.... the staff was very nice though.Does not meet our expectations for a KOA.

The campground is lovely, but our cabin's air conditioning didn't work. To the point where no one was able to sleep the second night. When I communicated this to the front desk, they said they knew about the issues with the units. I would've preferred that they not put us in that cabin since it was a known issue. I actually got wet bc of the unit dripping on me & had to sleep at the end of the bed

The KOA was very nice offered great activities throughout the weekend. The truck selling Italian ice and popcorn was a hit with kids! Not impressed at all with the cleaning done before check-in; there was bug bomb on the porch, but clearly did not do much as there were still tons of living spiders and webs on the porch and tons of ants inside cabin. We had to spray ourselves after arrival.

Staff pretty friendly. Definitely more relaxed than being on the OBX ocean side. More mom and pop feel. Hoping year 3 brings much more to the experience. Need some better swimming improvements. The ladders aren’t sufficient. Would love to see stairs and some roping off of a smaller safe area in case kids get too far and so we don’t float away in rafts.

Outside of camper was covered in dirt and spiders. Inside was Atleast clean. Had a fire alarm in the camper beep at 4am and wake up our whole family. Lots of bugs outside at night. Overall was a fun trip, but the fire alarm waking us up really upset us especially since we have two toddlers. Told the office about it and they said “well Atleast you know the alarm works!” And that was it.

We are glad you enjoyed your stay. The alarm was the C02 detector. It goes off when gas is detected. We will try to come up with some type of guard to put on the front of the stove to prevent guests from bumping the nobs and accidently turning on the gas.

It was okay but not much to do. Power wash guy was very nice and friendly. Have helpful fishing tips for my boyfriend.

Wanted to get away for a quiet and relaxing mini vacation, This place offered just that. I could set in the screen porch and relax watching out over the water or set on the patio in a glider. The rental we had was amazing. Everything we needed was there except the linens which is normal anywhere you go. I am looking forward to going back later this fall.

Called during business hours about them fixing the dinette table in their rental camper for 4 days! Repair guy told me he was just told to do it on the 4th day. We were leaving the next day. 5 minute fix to replace some screws. No boat as it was broken. I was given a 372 dollar refund on a 5 night stay. Just a rich owner throwing money around to make it go away. Only had 10 of 40 employees there.

Reality is very different than the advertising. Invested with all types of bugs. Full timers make their own rules. One day spent listening to loud vulgar behavior and urinating off the pier. Management removed my review after responding to it twice. It was our second and last. Not KOA holiday grade. Overpriced for tight poor quality sites and far less than advertised.

We wanted to try out an RV before we decided to buy one because we have 2 toddlers. When the announce the jeep jam we signed up right away! We throughly enjoyed it! The bugs were bad under the tree but non the less we still had a blast! We will be back!

This was our first time there and didn’t realize how far it was away from everything on the true Outer Banks. Also, out of their control, but there were a lot of bugs. First time & fell in love with the houses on the waterfront! So peaceful! House was perfect & better than hotel room! Screened porch a plus but could’ve used a power wash� Bathroom could’ve used more hooks. Overall, property very clean. Enjoyed the docks & riding around campground looking at campers & nature trails. Definitely one of our favorite places to return�

We LOVED the location on the water, screened in porch, & layout of the cabin. Our only concern was the broken A/C. A modular unit was added but only kept the front room mildly cool. We kept the bathroom shut & were forced to sleep on the very uncomfortable pull out sofa. The mayflies came out Sat night & hundreds got into the cabin due the window being ajar for A/C unit. Thank you for the fans.

The kids enjoyed the activities and the sound. It was their first time swimming in the sound. However, we ended up leaving early due to the midgions that took control of our camper and truck on Sunday morning. I rented 2 spots one for my camper and one camper rental for my sister and her family. They attacked my waterfront spot. Other than the issue with them I would live to come back.

We loved seeing the sunset. We liked being close to Nags Head and drove down for the day. My eldest child liked making friendship bracelets and met some kids her age to talk with while we were there. The RV was just what we needed for privacy and we had breakfast on the deck and liked the table and chairs out there. Thank you all for making our stay easy.

The facility and grounds were all nice and maintained. The cost of the rv rental was way too high for the size of the rv. It was too small and cramped for us. Additionally the camp store and food cafe were very disappointing compared to expectations. I feel ripped off.

We had a great week here. My kids loved the jump pad, arcade, buying candy at the camp store, and swimming in the sound. Even though it rained every day, there was always enough to keep us occupied and happy!

The campground is great for families. They have a park, piers, dog park, shop, arcade, showers, everything! The customer service has always been great too, the people are kind. I would like to see more trees around the campground. But it was a great stay for a quick camping trip.
