GUESTS WITH RESERVATIONS:
If you have a reservation and arrive after closing, you will find your Guest Service Guide with your name and site number on our office door, which is also our general store building. This building is located just before the entrance to the campground. Just come up the steps and you will find your guide.
It will also provide you with directions to your campsite/accommodation, and a map of our campground that shows you where all the guests services areas are.
GUESTS WITHOUT RESERVATIONS:
If you do not have a reservation, you can use our night check-in board. It is located immediately at the top of the steps on the left of the office/general store building. This building is located just before the entrance to the campground. Please do not proceed into the campground until you have completed night registration. We have guests arriving at random times throughout the evening, so it is important that late arrivals without a reservation only select those sites available to avoid having to wake you up to move.
The night registration board will explain what sites are available for one night, and the cost. You must fill out a night registration envelope and place it in the slot of the pink box below the board. If you need a receipt and/or change, stop by the office in the morning for assistance. *Cabins and RV Rentals are unable to be booked during night registration - please contact the Office prior to arrival during office hours and reserve your accommodation.
**Electronic leashes ARE NOT ALLOWED ANYWHERE**.
A NON-REFUNDABLE $50 Pet Cleaning Fee will be applied during check-in for all PET-FRIENDLY lodging reservations with Pets. What is classified as a Pet? Parrot, Cat, Dog. Emu, Lizard, Bear, Moose, Kangaroo, Horse, Whale (nope! the wife/husband don't count); if it's called fluffy, OR fits into your handbag OR goes by any other similar name, then it's a Pet.
HELPFUL INFORMATION: Bring your helper. Service dogs are welcome at all KOA Campgrounds. (Leash and aggressive behavior rules apply.)
When You Arrive: Good behavior is required. Dogs of any breed that are hostile or aggressive will be asked to leave the campground, along with their owners. Bring the leash. Dogs must be kept on leashes no longer than 6 feet when outside with their owners. Do not leave a tethered dog unattended. Remember manners. Constant barking bothers other campers. If your pet is too vocal, you'll need to find other accommodations. Pets are our best friends. Please ensure your pet's safety by always placing a leash on them while staying in the Park and disposing of their waste in the dumpster or pet waste stations.
PETS are NOT allowed in certain lodging within the campground (Glamping Tents, Chalet, Deluxe Cabins and the Rental RV Unit), and NOT allowed inside the Bathhouse nor General Store. A $500 CLEANING FEE WILL BE CHARGED IF A PET IS FOUND IN THESE ACCOMMODATIONS.
PETS ARE WELCOME in our Camping Cabin and Easy Camping Tents ONLY.
Do not leave your pet unattended. Please take them with you when you leave the campground to go on excursions or visit downtown. Looking for a Pet sitter? Ask at the Office so the Team may assist you with local providers' information.

Alaska is unforgettable. We make sure your stay is too.
Our Valdez KOA is a true family campground — now in its second generation of ownership. The story starts in 2007 when our family bought the grounds and built this campground with vision, grit, and a love for Alaska. What began as a dream became a place where thousands of families have camped, explored, and made lifelong memories. Our folks, LaVerne and Tim, gave the campground life; pouring all of their energy into it. They grew it from 4 cabins and a bathhouse to 86 sites in total. During their tenure, we visited and fell in love with Alaska, Valdez, and the campground.
In 2020, we left our previous careers for the chance to own and operate the campground. For us, 2020 was about a big exciting leap we were taking - from career employees into the wilds of business ownership. We were incredibly excited to purchase the campground and continue the family legacy with it's next chapter. Bringing our experience from outside the campground industry, we stepped into ownership with fresh perspective, strong business backgrounds, and a deep respect for what had been built. As hands-on owners, we are fully involved in daily operations and committed to continuous improvement, sparkling clean grounds, and genuinely friendly hospitality.Today, the campground continues to grow — blending the strong foundation of the past with a clear and exciting vision for the future.
We look forward to hosting you, and hope you will fall in love with unforgettable Valdez too.

That doesn't mean this area has to always be empty. When you start reviewing camping options, your history will display here to help compare sites and find the best stay. You will be able to share your stay information with friends or family and save it for a later time if you have a KOA Account.
