1 mile east of Winthrop on SR 20/Cascade Loop Scenic Hwy.
From SR 20 W: Turn right at stop sign in Winthrop, continue 1.2 miles.
From east on 20: Pass through town of Twisp, continue approximately 8 miles. Look for the Large KOA sign on the east side of the road.

T-Mobile launched the first ever direct-to-device satellite cellular service – available to the last several generations of smartphones (regardless of carrier). Called T-Satellite, the service officially launched in July 2025.
This new service provides an added layer of safety in more than 500,000 square miles in the United States that currently has no connectivity. The implications for Search & Rescue operations is hard to understate. Access to two-way texting in cases of emergency will allow SARs teams to quickly locate injured and lost hikers in the back country, saving lives, not to mention freeing up critical emergency resources for other tasks. It will also meaningfully benefit visitors, staff and residents in many regions surrounding America's Public Lands.
