Nice stay. Free pancakes a plus. Close to BNP. Friendly staff and hard-working owners. Nice level shaded site #50. Just wish they had more full hook-ups! Quiet & remote. Do any grocery shopping prior to your stay because the store in Interior is lacking. Camp store is nicely stocked for camping needs.

Oregon road Trip for Mom and daughter best KIA we have ever stayed at. Hosts were the best!

Tent sites are close together as we expected which may not be desired by some. Breakfast was a nice unexpected benefit of pancakes, coffee and juice. Good place to stay if entering the Badlands.

The food for sale was a definite bonus for us!

The staff were friendly and helpful. The laundry and bathrooms were very clean. The pancakes were good and appreciated. The lawn games were nice to have on a relaxing day. I would stay again and recommend this park. It's a great home base for sight seeing.

Great location right next to Badlands National Park. Overall friendly staff, but they wouldn't bring my firewood out to my site. The reason for not rating 5 stars is the bathroom situation in the tent area. There are only 2 bathrooms for the entire area. Each one has one sink, shower and toilet. Always lines in the morning, particularly since some have long morning shower routines.

The location was fantastic! We rented the small, one room cabin. The mattresses were very old and thin. They gave us backaches. The other issues was the bathrooms. They were NASTY during our two night stay. We had a few short interactions with the owner “Bob”. He wasn’t the nicest person we have met but we didn’t let it bother our vacation. We wouldn’t stay here again.

The facilities were clean and everything was close by. It was a very short drive into the Badlands. There were many useful amenities; however, the campsite was very cramped with no privacy. I don't think we will camp here again, the Cedar Pass campground in the Badlands was quieter but with fewer facilities and that's just more my style. If you're familiar with KOA, this was a very good one.

Super convenient location. Only thing that could be better is lawn maintenance. I noticed a lot of sites (including ours) that needed to be weed eated.

Great site with patio, close to the bathrooms, but bathroom/showers could use an update.

Very nice and peaceful campground. Friendly staff and beautiful area. Only downfall to the place was the pool was not the cleanest. Water was cloudy and in need a attention. Very awesome they had an cool shack on-site. Good selection of food. We had their pizza and was reasonably priced and worth the money.

Great KOA. Plenty of space to spread out on our patio and in our site. Not a fan of the all in one restrooms, but they were clean and functioned well.

Our deluxe cabin was very nice. There was an issue with having bedding in our regular cabin even though it was noted in our reservation. Staff corrected the issue when it was brought to their attention but the elderly woman had an attitude about it with me despite me being kind about it.

Very quiet. Nice people!

We reserved a pull thru site for a mtr.hm. w/towed veh. 3.5 mos. prior to our stay. When we arrived, we were assigned a site barely long enough for our mtr.hm. let alone our towed vehicle. Also there was to place to park our towed veh. When asked to give us a site conforming with our reservation, we were refused - even though other sites were available. Owner was extremely rude & threated tow veh.

Our favorite KOA experience so far- great location for exploring the Badlands. Sites are shaded and relatively far apart. Pool was great on a hot day, although a mid-day cleaning might be helpful on heavy-use days. Food options were great. Large ply area - consider upgrading the play equipment to make it even better.

Enjoyed the shade and river setting. Staff is friendly and very helpful. Store is well supplied with all the necessities. Breakfast and dinner food service was a real treat- great selection, well prepared, and a good value too.

Brief stay, one night. We had a tire problem and the people there helped us out! Wonderful to sleep beneath the cottonwoods.

The facilities were fine. A beautiful & very convenient location. Pancake breakfast is awesome. We love to camp in a tent. However, other campers need to learn some camping etiquette. Quiet time means quiet time. no loud talking or parties. I highly suggest that KOA staff go around the campground at the start of quiet time to remind campers to be quiet or they are subject to being removed.

They went above and beyond at this KOA! They have a cook shack which made breakfast the next morning a breeze! The showers/bathrooms were well conditioned and clean, too.

Loved your dog park and the trees.

We stayed in a camping cabin. It was in rougher shape than other KOA camping cabins we've stayed at. The bathrooms at this KOA, especially the showers, seemed rather dirty and not well maintained. The onsite food was a nice though.

Great family owned place. A little farther to travel to what I wanted to see but everything in these huge parks is a long drive! I was just getting used to it. Nice to have food available and shade and grass around your site. Everything was well maintained. Enjoyable stay.

Started at a tent site then upgraded to cabin. Enjoyed the friendly staff and food building. Quiet surroundings even though children and adults were out and about. Store offered all we needed and shower room was clean every time we used it.

Got base cabin. A/C and ceiling fan. No toilet but has central showerhouse and toilets. All amenities with deluxe cabins. Nice folks run place. From big rv spots down to tent camping spots. Not far at all from badlands. Stayed 2 days. Owner is motorcycle rider, so hes alright far as im concerned. Recommended.

This is our first stay at a KOA. We LOVED this Badlands KOA. The vibe was great, the staff was great. We'll be back!

One overnight.

The people running it were rude and the we could not use the pool. That was the reason we booked that location would not recommend to anyone.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Any pool closure during August was due to thunderstorms or hours we are open. We cannot have guests in the water with lightning.

Nicely wooded, staff was friendly, washers and dryers worked well, quiet. Read about this location in a top 10 listicle, and would definitely recommend. Stayed here 4 nights with a travel trailer.

Rating: 4/5 from a KOA Holiday perspective Overall: We stayed 1 night in September 2021 with a 37ft Class A with a tow vehicle. Nice KOA Holiday with many options for RV and camping sites and lots of shade (vs. the Cedar Pass Badlands campground). Overpriced for a 1-night stop for which Cedar Pass may be a better choice, but a great option if you plan to spend multiple nights and enjoy the amenities. Campsite/Campground: The campground was very spacious and overall easy to maneuver. We had some confusion on the way out due to some one-way signs, but cleared driving the wrong way in a one-way with staff and made it out ok :) . Great shade in many sites, especially Jackalope Lane, Prairie Dog Trail, turkey run, Coyote Path, and Hoot Owl Drive. We had site 143 which was a patio site with LOTS of space between sites. Great site if you plan to spend a few days or week, but over priced for a quick stayover as we didn't have time to enjoy the space. Hookups: We had 50A and full hookup site with patio that included a table, chairs and propane grill. Furniture was brand new and in great condition. Hookups were a challenge – they were very far from the rig and we needed to be creative to get the sewer lines connected (see picture). Glad we had extensions! Amenities: The site looked to have great amenities. The breakfast was held in a brand-new pole barn and overall things were well kept, we just didn't have time to enjoy them with a 1-night stay. Service/Staff: Staff was good at check-in. Other: We have stayed at both the KOA and Cedar Pass campground. Cedar Pass has its challenges (from flooding to windstorms). If you are looking to stay between the two, we would suggest that if you have a soft-sided camping unit (tent or pop-up) then the KOA is the best choice to avoid flooding or wind issues. The KOA is also the best place if you are spending more than one night, as it has amenities vs. Cedar Pass which has none other than showers/restrooms. If you have a hard-sided camper and are doing a 1-night stay, Cedar Pass may be a better option with better views.
