The park was very nice, free pancakes in the morning was definitely a bonus. The site was very good and the staff was very friendly and one of them even drove all the way up to Rapid City to drop off a package for us that got delivered to the Badlands KOA even though we had left already to keep heading west! Was a very nice time!

Did not ask for a shady spot when it was 100 degrees and we were put in a treeless area. Not good.

Don’t take the long way throughout the reservation. Go thru the park from I-90 if you have a pass or plan to buy one. Had a great patio end lot with a unique vertical fire pit made of steel. Camp owner, Bob, was very gracious. Free pancakes every day with other breakfast items available for purchase. WiFi and digital cable were great. Close to Badlands park entrance.

A good place to stay. The free pancakes and $1. coffee in the morning was wonderful!. This is a very nice camp ground with many services.

I loved every part of it. The bathrooms, porta potties, and showers were clean. All the staff was very friendly and the pancakes were super good. Bob the owner is a very nice man who we enjoyed speaking to. Definitely will be back every single year!

Very pleasant Great staff and clean grounds!

Nice place to stay. Showers and restrooms were clean. Staff was not going out of their way to be friendly but also we’re not rude. After saying hello in passing a couple employees and getting no response I can only assume they are instructed not to speak with guests or are not real friendly.

Our campground visit was amazing...the lots are large and shady. The bathrooms were clean. Environment was very maintained. Owners and staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Not a convenient location. Listed as a 'HOLIDAY' but compared to other KOA Holidays it leaves a lot to be desired. Very friendly staff.

Just not a great fit for us, but that's OK, it was a well equipped. Facility.

We had a wonderful experience, the staff was very friendly and kind. My kids asked when could we come back. We will be back next season!

As always everything was perfect

Restrooms were dirty, cicadas were deafening, but the free pancakes made up for it!

Great location. Nice and quiet. Level site on gravel.

The grounds are gorgeous and the free rodeo was fun However, we were just passing through for a night as a part of a long KOA roadtrip, so I reserved a pull-thru for quick access. We checked in and I was directed to site 19 which is, honestly, not a pull through. The escort suggested back in- which is the wrong site type, and it would have been a challenging back in. Staff were otherwise friend

Arrived after dark. Checked in and someone escorted us to our site. He showed us hookups and was most helpful. Patio had a nice grill. Cable was good. Enjoyed our stay. The only complaint I have is the dryers in the laundry area. They tried for two minutes and ran a cooled down cycle for three minutes.

Nice friendly staff, that are courteous & helpful.

Great staff, went out of there way to make us feel welcome . Also loved the road across the street to run & bike on!

Of the 6 KOAs we stayed in over the last 9 days these had the dirtiest showers. Disgusting. The staff was kind and nice amenities including breakfast and dinner, but there is clearly an issue with the plumbing and should be looked at while also considering some much needed upgrades in the showers. But first start with just some bleach.

Great location! 4 miles to Badlands. Well run. Fun stay.

Great staff would definitely stay there again

3rd time staying there this year. Staff is super friendly, proximity to the Badlands is excellent, and the campground is clean. I like that there's trees for shade since the area can get hot. I highly recommend.

Great spacious sites and extremely friendly and helpful staff.

We were there for a little over a week and the staff was super friendly, the food was great at the food shack, and the camp grounds seemed very well maintained. We will definitely be back at some point.

I've stayed at a few KOAs now, and this was the best. The tent camp sites were nice and shaded and didn't feel like they were an afterthought of the RV sites. They have a POOL that was clean and refreshing with the SD summer heat. they offer a free pancake breakfast! The owners clearly make a huge effort to make this campground fun and welcoming!

Because of the area and camp amenities I would use again or tell people about it. But tent village sink and counters were not cleaned. Rat poop all over. Also restrooms are never mopped or even sprayed with disinfected. Shower curtains all brown and yellow. So is shower. Mildew, mold, I know it’s camping but easy way for germs, viruses, diseases to spread.

Excellent customer service, friendly staff. The cook shack was great.

The campground is beautiful! Staff was very friendly, breakfast was fabulous! It was nice that they made sure we could fit our truck and travel trailer without disconnecting since we were hitting the road in the morning!

Loved the scenic drives with the pull offs. All the animals. The facilities was very good. Really enjoyed the breakfast especially the free pancakes. All the workers at the campground was very helpful and friendly.

They are so concerned about parking or driving on grass, that looks like it needs to be watered.

We had a very nice quiet and enjoyable stay in our 36' 5th wheel. The staff were very friendly and the amenities clean. We'd stay at this location again should we ever be coming through this part of SD.

Stayed in a cabin….lighting very poor and only 1 electric outlet, mattress was terrible Only there one night, so cabins with bathrooms and running water require a 2 night stay. At $149 a night, didn’t see it would be worth paying for the extra night when we wouldn’t be there. Don’t think I would stay here again.

One of our favorite KOAs yet! The layout was nice, the whole feel of the park was relaxing. Suggest putting something in the laundry room to temporarily hang up clothing, and mow or week whack the top of the walking trail.

Nice stopover. We just stayed the one night, but it was very clean and quiet.

Very nice place

Nice tent site, loved the free pancakes; however, while the shower was clean the water pressure was horrible. Had to use the lower accessible shower head to take a shower with since the upper head wouldn't work.

Staff was very helpful when we needed air for a low tire.

Great people running this KOA. They took care of the campground & the free pancakes were great. The campsight we had was a nice end site...with shade, it faced the west. We watched the sunset every evening. The only complaint we have is the spotlights for the entrance sign shine in our eyes when outside @ nite. And the smell from the sewer lagoon was awful. It was right next to us.

Over all the people were friendly and the outside setup of are cabin was great. Inside the log cabin we stayed in was really nice except the mattress was very uncomfortable had alot of trouble sleeping on it, we went out and had to purchase a mattress topper. they needed to update the mini golf. Overall was a nice experience, would recommend overall.

Nicely wooded, staff was friendly, washers and dryers worked well, quiet. Read about this location in a top 10 listicle, and would definitely recommend. Stayed here 4 nights with a travel trailer.

Rating: 4/5 from a KOA Holiday perspective Overall: We stayed 1 night in September 2021 with a 37ft Class A with a tow vehicle. Nice KOA Holiday with many options for RV and camping sites and lots of shade (vs. the Cedar Pass Badlands campground). Overpriced for a 1-night stop for which Cedar Pass may be a better choice, but a great option if you plan to spend multiple nights and enjoy the amenities. Campsite/Campground: The campground was very spacious and overall easy to maneuver. We had some confusion on the way out due to some one-way signs, but cleared driving the wrong way in a one-way with staff and made it out ok :) . Great shade in many sites, especially Jackalope Lane, Prairie Dog Trail, turkey run, Coyote Path, and Hoot Owl Drive. We had site 143 which was a patio site with LOTS of space between sites. Great site if you plan to spend a few days or week, but over priced for a quick stayover as we didn't have time to enjoy the space. Hookups: We had 50A and full hookup site with patio that included a table, chairs and propane grill. Furniture was brand new and in great condition. Hookups were a challenge – they were very far from the rig and we needed to be creative to get the sewer lines connected (see picture). Glad we had extensions! Amenities: The site looked to have great amenities. The breakfast was held in a brand-new pole barn and overall things were well kept, we just didn't have time to enjoy them with a 1-night stay. Service/Staff: Staff was good at check-in. Other: We have stayed at both the KOA and Cedar Pass campground. Cedar Pass has its challenges (from flooding to windstorms). If you are looking to stay between the two, we would suggest that if you have a soft-sided camping unit (tent or pop-up) then the KOA is the best choice to avoid flooding or wind issues. The KOA is also the best place if you are spending more than one night, as it has amenities vs. Cedar Pass which has none other than showers/restrooms. If you have a hard-sided camper and are doing a 1-night stay, Cedar Pass may be a better option with better views.
