The facilities were very clean and the cabin we stayed at was super comfortable! They also have tons of things for kids to do and the all you can eat pancakes in the morning was such a nice bonus! This was my first time ever staying at a KOA and it won’t be my last!

It was great to stay in a deluxe cabin this time as we usually just do a 1-room cabin with no amenities. Very clean cabin and campground. Staff was great as well. Loved it!

It was a beautiful camp ground and the owners and staff were very friendly and kept everything so clean. Delicious free pancakes ever morning too in a great common area.

Great location to see all the area has to see. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Even though it was a rather large facility, it was quiet and very well kept and clean. Nice size dog park. The road noise was not too bad. They offer free pancakes every morning, with other items for purchase, and offer dinner options for purchase. They allowed us to have something shipped to us there.

Had nice shade trees, firepit, picnic table, spacious, great breakfast and dinner options. Coffee could use a little more coffee! :) overall very satisfied with beautiful location and quick access to park. Would definitely recommend.

Koa’s are a “don’t do this” campground. It seems upon check in it is “don’t do this, don’t do that” and especially when Koa is usually higher priced than most campgrounds This particular campground was quiet for the most part, but needs a lot of TLC and sprucing up. And maybe some more cheerful helpers.

Arrived on a 100+ degree day to a very kind hostess and "tour guide" who led us directly to our campsite and was willing to help us set up our camper and offered some practical tidbits of help. There are not very many campgrounds available in the remote area of the Badlands and this one had shade! A place to walk our dogs and a pool also a small shop with food available for campers.

Very nice place and staff. Very close to the Badlands Scenic route as well as only a few hours away from Mt. Rushmore, Custer, and other great places. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

Wonderful as always. What a great KOA!

Very relaxing and well managed. They started off with concierge service to escort us to our camp site. To top things off, they included a pancake breakfast every morning at no additional cost. Furthermore, the facility was very quiet. It should be noted, for folks with small children, that the play area is small and limited.

Friendly staff Easy in and out but farther from the park than we expected Still a good stay

It was ok, the spot I had for my 40’ 5th wheel and 4door long bed truck was just big enough, no room to pull up or anything but it had full hookups. It’s a nice KOA it’s just a little dated, but everything works. The water was not good. Like it smelled like rotten eggs but we couldn’t get the taste out with our multiple filters. Idk if it was just when we were there but even the pool water

Every single KOA staffer we had the pleasure to run into was AMAZING!! The free pancakes are such a nice gesture and the man that was flipping them was so sweet! This is definitely the place to stay when visiting the Badlands!!!

Nicely wooded, staff was friendly, washers and dryers worked well, quiet. Read about this location in a top 10 listicle, and would definitely recommend. Stayed here 4 nights with a travel trailer.

Rating: 4/5 from a KOA Holiday perspective Overall: We stayed 1 night in September 2021 with a 37ft Class A with a tow vehicle. Nice KOA Holiday with many options for RV and camping sites and lots of shade (vs. the Cedar Pass Badlands campground). Overpriced for a 1-night stop for which Cedar Pass may be a better choice, but a great option if you plan to spend multiple nights and enjoy the amenities. Campsite/Campground: The campground was very spacious and overall easy to maneuver. We had some confusion on the way out due to some one-way signs, but cleared driving the wrong way in a one-way with staff and made it out ok :) . Great shade in many sites, especially Jackalope Lane, Prairie Dog Trail, turkey run, Coyote Path, and Hoot Owl Drive. We had site 143 which was a patio site with LOTS of space between sites. Great site if you plan to spend a few days or week, but over priced for a quick stayover as we didn't have time to enjoy the space. Hookups: We had 50A and full hookup site with patio that included a table, chairs and propane grill. Furniture was brand new and in great condition. Hookups were a challenge – they were very far from the rig and we needed to be creative to get the sewer lines connected (see picture). Glad we had extensions! Amenities: The site looked to have great amenities. The breakfast was held in a brand-new pole barn and overall things were well kept, we just didn't have time to enjoy them with a 1-night stay. Service/Staff: Staff was good at check-in. Other: We have stayed at both the KOA and Cedar Pass campground. Cedar Pass has its challenges (from flooding to windstorms). If you are looking to stay between the two, we would suggest that if you have a soft-sided camping unit (tent or pop-up) then the KOA is the best choice to avoid flooding or wind issues. The KOA is also the best place if you are spending more than one night, as it has amenities vs. Cedar Pass which has none other than showers/restrooms. If you have a hard-sided camper and are doing a 1-night stay, Cedar Pass may be a better option with better views.
