Just passing through so we didn’t have a chance to try the amenities. What we did see was very clean and organized. Free pancakes for breakfast! How bad can that be? .

One of the best KOAs we have stayed in. Great grounds and staff, I would highly recommend your stay.

First time camping with a trailer for us. First time at a KOA for us. It was a great experience awesome facility. Friendly staff, well-thought-out store of items that may have been forgotten or needed. We did not use the service but nice to see that you had cook shack with some food items provided great idea. For those not in the mood to prepare camp food LOL. Keep up the great work! Loved it!!!

What a nice retreat in the middle of the heat. My kids loved the playground and spent a lot of time there while we set up and tore down. Pool was refreshing, and we were grateful for it. The people who worked the store were wonderful. Really enjoyed our short stay and that the store closed later.

Salmon salad, free pancakes, bottomless coffee and most importantly friendly fun people made our stay awesome!

We were only able to stay one night this trip, but we plan to come back again and will be staying longer. Very clean and everyone is extremely personable.

One of the better KOAs we’ve stayed at. Only issue is the wait at the showers. Tent sites have shade, unlike the park Campground.

Great people! Great staff! Competent, friendly and kind!

Overall we liked this campground and services provided. We especially loved the pancakes. It was reasonably quiet there and everything was clean. Our only hiccup was laundry. All 4 washers were being used. We waited and waited for someone to return for their wash, and finally just put one of the small loads into a dryer so we could use it. Turns out was Karen the owner and she was mad we did. Ugh!

Good location. We enjoyed the pancakes and the snack bar. We were moved on day 2 after requesting to be put in a shadier spot. We would stay there again.

The deluxe cabins are great. I didn't realize the coffee pot was Keurig so that detail would be nice to know ahead of time. Also I didn't feel like the shower in our cabin has been cleaned anytime recently I'm sure it's been really busy but there was definitely soap scum on the walls. It could just use a better clean. I would definitely visit again, loved the dog park!

Traveling for our 30 year anniversary. Seeing some of the beautiful spots in the USA. Attendants were very helpful and accommodating. Very nice and quiet place to stay.

I was charged a late fee because we were still parked in the campground and my children were checking out souvenirs at 1:30pm. I could certainly understand the late fee if I was still in my campsite or if I was still doing some thing besides shopping for souvenirs. In addition the lady at the counter was very rude to my children. Obviously was rude to me too.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Our published check out time is 11 AM. Late check outs can be accommodated, but our cleaning crew does have other tasks, and the site is promised to the arriving guest at 1 PM. Your kind understanding that we do need time to get this accomplished before they arrive.

Great KOA to stay at while visiting Badlands National Park.

Free pancake breakfast! Very nice staff. Our patio site was great. Would definitely stay here again.

Our site at this campground was level and shady but it was short. We were able to park our tow vehicle in a spot next to us that no longer functions as a campsite. The length of some sites could be an issue for larger trailers. Facilities were clean.

Great staff, very friendly and helpful. Loved the pancakes. We he site was poorly designed, our neighbor’s sewage line emptied beside our picnic table.

Air conditioner not working in cabin we complained said they where going to replace it next day after left the outside temp was 97 degrees and just as hot in cabin .we are KOA members

OK camp experience. Host/owner is a friendly fellow. We stayed in cabin. Two bunk beds and a bench. Fine for our last minute needs but VERY VERY overpriced. I know the Badlands are remote, demand has increased, and the “season” is short ... but $114 for what we got borders on price gouging. Cabins, especially those with no running water or bathroom facilities should be priced in the campsite r

Great staff. Pancake breakfast was awesome. Grounds and bathrooms were clean. I have nothing negative to say other than the wifi was awful and caused us a lot of problems with our computer work and getting TV. Overall a great experience

We love this place so much. The people are so kind and the evening and morning cookouts are truly special and make it different than others. Sites are nice and a huge variety. One of our top 3-5 in USA and we have been all over the country

Always a pleasure to stay at the Badlands/White River KOA. I know I can count on a nice tent site within easy walking distance to restrooms/showers, no matter where my space might be located. Clean restrooms/showers, great amenities. One day, I'll even make it to the pancake breakfast!

We were very pleased with this campground. Friendly staff and great location - very close to park entrance. The camp store is well stocked and everyone is very helpful. Would we stay here again? You bet!

We really enjoyed our stay. The scenery on the drive was amazing! There is nothing near by, but the store was very well stocked. The river was very low because it was August, but beautiful. The cabins were clean. One of our cabins had very sulfur smelling water (so be prepared) but otherwise our family really loved this campground.

Great staff! Loved the free pancake breakfast every day! Great to have food on site and a well stocked camp store as the location is so remote. Perfect for visiting the amazing Badlands National Park.

Nicely wooded, staff was friendly, washers and dryers worked well, quiet. Read about this location in a top 10 listicle, and would definitely recommend. Stayed here 4 nights with a travel trailer.

Rating: 4/5 from a KOA Holiday perspective Overall: We stayed 1 night in September 2021 with a 37ft Class A with a tow vehicle. Nice KOA Holiday with many options for RV and camping sites and lots of shade (vs. the Cedar Pass Badlands campground). Overpriced for a 1-night stop for which Cedar Pass may be a better choice, but a great option if you plan to spend multiple nights and enjoy the amenities. Campsite/Campground: The campground was very spacious and overall easy to maneuver. We had some confusion on the way out due to some one-way signs, but cleared driving the wrong way in a one-way with staff and made it out ok :) . Great shade in many sites, especially Jackalope Lane, Prairie Dog Trail, turkey run, Coyote Path, and Hoot Owl Drive. We had site 143 which was a patio site with LOTS of space between sites. Great site if you plan to spend a few days or week, but over priced for a quick stayover as we didn't have time to enjoy the space. Hookups: We had 50A and full hookup site with patio that included a table, chairs and propane grill. Furniture was brand new and in great condition. Hookups were a challenge – they were very far from the rig and we needed to be creative to get the sewer lines connected (see picture). Glad we had extensions! Amenities: The site looked to have great amenities. The breakfast was held in a brand-new pole barn and overall things were well kept, we just didn't have time to enjoy them with a 1-night stay. Service/Staff: Staff was good at check-in. Other: We have stayed at both the KOA and Cedar Pass campground. Cedar Pass has its challenges (from flooding to windstorms). If you are looking to stay between the two, we would suggest that if you have a soft-sided camping unit (tent or pop-up) then the KOA is the best choice to avoid flooding or wind issues. The KOA is also the best place if you are spending more than one night, as it has amenities vs. Cedar Pass which has none other than showers/restrooms. If you have a hard-sided camper and are doing a 1-night stay, Cedar Pass may be a better option with better views.
