First time staying at a KOA & we can’t wait to do another! Love that the locations are absolutely everywhere. Everything was clean and the staff was thorough and attentive. We normally tent camp, but tried a cabin to switch things up—highly recommend! AC worked very well & they have a variety of meals so you don’t have to cook ! Just book it. You won’t regret it!

Good campground, nice hosts no complaints

Some people friendly others… no so much. More of self service than other site.

Wonderful staff, food and cleanliness. Great time!

I loved staying in the deluxe cabin. Beds were comfortable, a/c worked well and the bathroom was roomy.

The location was fantastic! We rented the small, one room cabin. The mattresses were very old and thin. They gave us backaches. The other issues was the bathrooms. They were NASTY during our two night stay. We had a few short interactions with the owner “Bob”. He wasn’t the nicest person we have met but we didn’t let it bother our vacation. We wouldn’t stay here again.

Owners were very kind and accommodating. Clean cabins and great breakfast. The property is clean and well maintained

Our deluxe cabin was very nice. There was an issue with having bedding in our regular cabin even though it was noted in our reservation. Staff corrected the issue when it was brought to their attention but the elderly woman had an attitude about it with me despite me being kind about it.

We stayed in a camping cabin. It was in rougher shape than other KOA camping cabins we've stayed at. The bathrooms at this KOA, especially the showers, seemed rather dirty and not well maintained. The onsite food was a nice though.

Got base cabin. A/C and ceiling fan. No toilet but has central showerhouse and toilets. All amenities with deluxe cabins. Nice folks run place. From big rv spots down to tent camping spots. Not far at all from badlands. Stayed 2 days. Owner is motorcycle rider, so hes alright far as im concerned. Recommended.

Very nice campground. Great and friendly staff.

We’ve stayed at this KOA many times during our adventures and have not been disappointed. This time, we had a deluxe cabin, it was pleasantly surprising how much room we had for 3 adults. Very clean, comfortable and nice to relax at the end of a long day. The free pancakes and Indian tacos are delish! We’ll be back (hopefully) next summer! Keep up the awesome work!!

If cleanliness matters find a different campground. The bathrooms had dead flies everywhere, dirty sinks, and stained showers. I stayed in one of their tepee options. Was a fun experience until it rained on us. Knowing it was forecasted to rain I asked the office to close the tent flaps for the night. They never did. Very disappointed that someone could not be bothered to close the flaps.

We stayed in a cabin. Unfortunately, the air conditioning did not work the first night, but they fixed it when we told them and then it worked great. The cabin was clean and worked well for our family. The pool was nice and refreshing in the 100 degree heat! It was nice that they have a free pancake breakfast. They also offer other breakfast and dinner options for sale. The pizza was great!

Clean cabins and bathrooms. Good breakfast menu, free pancakes were delicious. Great location for us.

The teepee was not the best choice for the 100 degree day however everything about this campground was great! Very clean and very friendly staff! They're so nice they even make their guests free pancakes in the morning! Best KOA I've stayed at!

The staff nice and facilities were great. Need to fix the AC unit on cabin 89
Jul 29, 2021
Most importantly, the staff was the friendly and helpful people that I have come to expect. That said, the cabins were fly traps, and the air conditioning was inadequate, but it was also in poor shape even in the main buildings. The showers and restrooms were also a disappointment, you can't cover dank with paint and tiles. The mens room was just a step above using the bushes.

Considering the insane temperatures while we were here (highs of 106 and 108!) this was a comfortable stay. Cabins are well maintained. Bathrooms need more attention. Men’s showers had broken holders for hand held shower sprayers. Sinks drain very slowly. Staff at cookhouse were kind enough to make us food one night when we arrived about 15 minutes after closing. Very appreciative of them!

This is the perfect spot to stay for exploring the badlands. The crew was incredibly helpful and accomodating. I will recommend this location to anyone wanting to see the Badlands!!

Our family of four stayed in the yurt and loved it! Brand new AC kept the unit comfortable in 104 degree heat and we loved the amenities like the pool, mini golf, and the free pancake breakfast. The yurt had plenty of space with a 5 and 8 year old. The beds were futons and I wish they were more comfortable but overall loved our stay and will be back!

Very clean, staff were great and helpful always around. Bathrooms were clean and well kept up and free pancakes!

Very nice people, great customer service, excellent food. Updates to the bathrooms and shower house building attached to the store would be nice. Separate shower house from bathroom so the floors aren't always wet would be great. Overall, excellent place. Thanks so much

Extremely nice KOA, everyone was friendly and owner makes terrific pancakes!

Great! Loved the morning breakfast

One of our favs!! The Indian tacos are amazing!! We love the deluxe cabins, very comfortable. Only thing, which may be out of camps control, are the wasps under/around the front porch, especially with little ones running around. Location is beautiful and perfect for exploring the Badlands. Staff was friendly and helpful!! We will return!!

Cabin was very nice, clean and had great amenities
Jul 17, 2021
Very nice employees, the 2nd bath needs attention, updating & could be cleaner & AC like the other bath attached to the checkin and store. The AC units in the Kamper Kabins need to run at all temps not just 78 degrees. Vicious dogs should not be allowed.

Good location close to the Badlands, nice campground. Easy check-in and fun to have a pool. The snack shack was convenient and the pancake breakfast was a bonus.

The cabin was clean, the a/c was cold during a very hot stay, the beds were comfortable, the front patio with furniture fireplace and grill was an awesome perk, and the service was great! Thank you!

Our reservation was last minute and only for the night. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Nice touch with the pancakes in the morning!

On 2nd night of stay, a man in staff shirt (the owner ?) told me he received 3 phone calls night before at 2am. Complaints of fighting at our site.Another complaint that afternoon. He said if any more complaints the sheriff will arrest me and my teenage son.My car impounded. We were not fighting. If we were too loud, we did not know. After that, I did not feel welcome or safe.Threats were unnecessary,

We really enjoyed the yurt. However, the bathroom we needed to use was out of toilet paper more than once. They were notified and it took 2 hours for us to get toilet paper. The pool was supposed to open at 10 am with a checkout time of 11 am. We waited until 10:30 and had to find someone to unlock the gate.

Miserable experience. It rained and since there is a hole in the tipi, everything got wet. I called the office and asked if a tarp could be put over the hole in the tipi but the guy said if I put everything to the sides of the tipi things wouldn’t get wet. He was very wrong. I slept in the truck due to the ants that came in and my friend set up the waterproof tent in the the tipi to stay dry.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

The traditional tipis do not have rain hats.

Nicely wooded, staff was friendly, washers and dryers worked well, quiet. Read about this location in a top 10 listicle, and would definitely recommend. Stayed here 4 nights with a travel trailer.

Rating: 4/5 from a KOA Holiday perspective Overall: We stayed 1 night in September 2021 with a 37ft Class A with a tow vehicle. Nice KOA Holiday with many options for RV and camping sites and lots of shade (vs. the Cedar Pass Badlands campground). Overpriced for a 1-night stop for which Cedar Pass may be a better choice, but a great option if you plan to spend multiple nights and enjoy the amenities. Campsite/Campground: The campground was very spacious and overall easy to maneuver. We had some confusion on the way out due to some one-way signs, but cleared driving the wrong way in a one-way with staff and made it out ok :) . Great shade in many sites, especially Jackalope Lane, Prairie Dog Trail, turkey run, Coyote Path, and Hoot Owl Drive. We had site 143 which was a patio site with LOTS of space between sites. Great site if you plan to spend a few days or week, but over priced for a quick stayover as we didn't have time to enjoy the space. Hookups: We had 50A and full hookup site with patio that included a table, chairs and propane grill. Furniture was brand new and in great condition. Hookups were a challenge – they were very far from the rig and we needed to be creative to get the sewer lines connected (see picture). Glad we had extensions! Amenities: The site looked to have great amenities. The breakfast was held in a brand-new pole barn and overall things were well kept, we just didn't have time to enjoy them with a 1-night stay. Service/Staff: Staff was good at check-in. Other: We have stayed at both the KOA and Cedar Pass campground. Cedar Pass has its challenges (from flooding to windstorms). If you are looking to stay between the two, we would suggest that if you have a soft-sided camping unit (tent or pop-up) then the KOA is the best choice to avoid flooding or wind issues. The KOA is also the best place if you are spending more than one night, as it has amenities vs. Cedar Pass which has none other than showers/restrooms. If you have a hard-sided camper and are doing a 1-night stay, Cedar Pass may be a better option with better views.
