Great campground. So close to the Badlands. Really enjoyed our stay.

Really enjoyed the friendliness of the employees. Evelyn (who cooked our pancakes, from Venezuela) was especially kind and full of joy. We loved her. Also, the owner was very helpful.

Our stay was short but sweet. Wish we had more time there. Hope to stay again!!!!

Overall, very good.

We really enjoyed the unique options to stay in (i.e Yurt & Tipi). Unfortunately the stay was less enjoyable due to the state of the restrooms. When we arrived there were clumps of hair and dead bugs all over the floor and no paper towels. By the next morning when I tried to use the bathrooms there was no toilet paper and when brought to staff attention it took 2 hours to correct!

There’s a lot to do here! Kids enjoyed swimming, mini golf, and basketball to name a few.

Upon arrival the tv was damaged as well as the outside of the cabin and the ac would not stay on. We were fine with all of this as it was a cabin and we had a long day in the Badlands. However, 2 days later my credit card was charged for the 2nd time as well as a damage fee of $150 for the tv that we didn’t use. Tried to address this with the owners to no avail. Sad as we enjoyed our time there.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We did refund you for the TV. Thanks for noticing.

You get what you pay for. At the the Badlands KOA you get more!

Pool was out of commission which was pretty disappointing on a hot day. Air conditioning unit in the cabin wasn't as good as other KOA cabins we recently stayed in. Food from kitchen was good and the outdoor activities were fun (horseshoes, mini golf). Very close to Badlands.

Friendly staff, clean cabins and facilities. We loved the pancake breakfast each morning. Only downer for us was the pool wasn't open the first day of our stay and the flies in the dining Pavillion were kind of brutal. Overall, a great experience and would stay here again in a heartbeat

This was such a great place to stay with my boys. They didn’t want to leave! We had so much fun riding bikes, swimming and playing golf. And, of course, I was so happy that it was a great location near the Badlands. The staff were all super friendly and helpful— they definitely take pride in keeping the campground impeccably clean.

Loved it and it’s proximity to the Badlands

Loved this KOA. Great location, near all the hiking trails. Campsite was clean, great tree cover, spacious patio, our deluxe cabin had all the linens provided. It was great!!

It would have been nice to know the pool was out of order before we arrived seeing as it was probably broken for a bit but everything else was great. Having a restaurant on site was perfect after a long day of travel. Lots of activities and nice scenery. The staff was very friendly. Very nice KOA.

One of the main reasons we have stayed here in the past (10 years ago) was the pool and the air conditioning in the cabins. The pool was closed and the air conditioning barely worked. We enjoyed the pancakes in the morning and the bathrooms were reasonably clean.

Wonderful place to stay! Very clean and well kept. Only disappointment was the pool wasn’t open due to waiting on parts. Would definitely stay again!

Two different stays about a week apart from each other. Pool is CLOSED and they claim they are waiting on a pump (for more than a month!). When you are in this business, you need to have the amenities available as advertised. Go somewhere to get the pump OR compensate your visitors by providing another amenity free of charge (bike rentals, firewood...). Disappointed - twice!

Everything was clean and the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly! We loved our time here and would definitely stay again. Thank you!

This place is pretty darn great. I couldn't give it 5 stars cuz the pool was broke that day and the sprinkler alternative didn't quite work out. We did play lots of mini golf! But overall its a beautiful spot. Very quiet and peaceful. The office is helpful and has lots of things in their store. The food hut is really nice to have and good breakfast. Would stay there again.

Perfect. Nothing else to it

The cabins are small, but clean & comfortable. The location close to the Badlands is also great! We very much enjoyed our stay!

We stayed 2 nights in the tipi. It was an experience for the kids, but will never do that again. There is little ventilation and was hot, which was expected. However it rained hard one night and we didn't k ow that there was a way to close the top so rain wouldn't get in. The staff was friendly and facilities were ok.

Super disappointed that the pool was closed and we weren't notified of this prior to arriving. The pool was a huge determining factor of our selection of this location. The air conditioning in the cabin couldn't keep up with the heat and we were miserable all night long. To ask guests to keep the temp at 78 degrees is unrealistic. Also, the bunk area was especially hot with no air flow.

it was chilly but we had a cabin. did have supper at the koa which was good nice we didn't have to cook that night

We rented a TeePee for our stay in the badlands. The Teepee itself was very nice and comfortable. One of the main reasons we chose this campground, was for the pool. Unfortunately the pool was closed during our stay, so no way to cool down from the hot weather. Very disappointed that we were not notified of the pool closure prior to our arrival.

Enjoyed our stay- good beds clean bathrooms. We’ve stayed many times- we were disappointed to see that the campground grounds weren’t kept as nice as usual- and the cabins could use some sprucing up as well. We’ve stayed in 100’s of KOAS- this one is in a good quiet location- just needs a bit of sprucing up compared to most others we have stayed in- over grown walks into cabins etc. we’

Great campground, the location is great. But the staff is rude. Other than that we had a great stay.

Nicely wooded, staff was friendly, washers and dryers worked well, quiet. Read about this location in a top 10 listicle, and would definitely recommend. Stayed here 4 nights with a travel trailer.

Rating: 4/5 from a KOA Holiday perspective Overall: We stayed 1 night in September 2021 with a 37ft Class A with a tow vehicle. Nice KOA Holiday with many options for RV and camping sites and lots of shade (vs. the Cedar Pass Badlands campground). Overpriced for a 1-night stop for which Cedar Pass may be a better choice, but a great option if you plan to spend multiple nights and enjoy the amenities. Campsite/Campground: The campground was very spacious and overall easy to maneuver. We had some confusion on the way out due to some one-way signs, but cleared driving the wrong way in a one-way with staff and made it out ok :) . Great shade in many sites, especially Jackalope Lane, Prairie Dog Trail, turkey run, Coyote Path, and Hoot Owl Drive. We had site 143 which was a patio site with LOTS of space between sites. Great site if you plan to spend a few days or week, but over priced for a quick stayover as we didn't have time to enjoy the space. Hookups: We had 50A and full hookup site with patio that included a table, chairs and propane grill. Furniture was brand new and in great condition. Hookups were a challenge – they were very far from the rig and we needed to be creative to get the sewer lines connected (see picture). Glad we had extensions! Amenities: The site looked to have great amenities. The breakfast was held in a brand-new pole barn and overall things were well kept, we just didn't have time to enjoy them with a 1-night stay. Service/Staff: Staff was good at check-in. Other: We have stayed at both the KOA and Cedar Pass campground. Cedar Pass has its challenges (from flooding to windstorms). If you are looking to stay between the two, we would suggest that if you have a soft-sided camping unit (tent or pop-up) then the KOA is the best choice to avoid flooding or wind issues. The KOA is also the best place if you are spending more than one night, as it has amenities vs. Cedar Pass which has none other than showers/restrooms. If you have a hard-sided camper and are doing a 1-night stay, Cedar Pass may be a better option with better views.
