Bob and the crew were great!

Best KoA so far. Attentive staff. Spacious grounds. We stayed in a deluxe tent site- clean, well laid out. Owner offers free pancakes every morning. Proximity to badlands- 3 minutes.

Very comfortable, excellent amenities, friendly staff, good location close to the national park. The cook house was also really convenient.

Oh we absolutely enjoyed our stay here! Bob the owner was so welcoming and friendly! The best part is every single morning at 7am he makes pancakes (free pancakes) for all his campers! With 1dollar bottomless coffee as well! Great place!!!

Never felt more at home away from home! Clean facilities, friendly staff and ample space to stay and play. Family friendly and very down home. This is my third stay at the grounds and will definitely stay again with the family. Checkout the cook shack! Great burgers!

Bob, Karen, and the whole staff was so accommodating and friendly! Our campsite was amazing and we felt like we were at home. Very kid friendly and would love to stay again!

The campground and staff were fine. Only complaint was lack of bathroom facilities. Two unisex toilet/ shower combos for over 20 campsites.

Nice place-relatively clean bathrooms, camp site also nice and tidy. Staff very friendly and helpful

Everything was great and as expected. An added bonus was free pancakes!

Lovely place, just very LOUD (and I don’t mean the cicadas!). After 10:00, people were still partying, yelling, and carrying on…. Maybe it was just one unlucky night for me. I have not had that experience there before, but with more people everywhere, it may be necessary to enforce basic courtesy rules a bit more!

First time ever staying at a KOA. My friend and I enjoyed every minute of it. Great place to pitch a tent and feel safe.

Very crowded Saturday night. Hound dog yowling gently and intermittently all night. People coming in after 10:30 p.m., when it was finally quiet, from the Cedar Pass star show were loud - rude! The pool was comfortable, but the ladder was broken and hanging at a precarious angle - dangerous! Get it together, people.
Jul 15, 2021
I would have been nice to know in advance that the Pool was closed. There were other KOAs that we could have stayed at instead. We were still charged the full price even with less amenities.

This was a nice KOA. My only complaint was that the back end of the campground (sites for tents etc. that do not have their own bathroom) had only 2 restrooms and they were family restrooms. This was a nice feature but while my family took showers we held up a toilet and sink for 30 minutes. The family restrooms were not very clean and floor was very slippery because of shower being in there.

If there were 6 stars possible, I would give them all to this campground. Our experience - clean bathrooms, excellent staff communication, easy facilities, great people - everything was close to perfect. KOA is amazing - especially the. lovely Bob. BONUS - yummy free pancakes!

Staff was fantastic! Free pancakes were wonderful! Downside is the shower facilities. With only 8 showers for such a massive campground, we had lots of issues with waiting for showers and flooding in the back showers didn’t help the situation.

Bob is awesome. The grounds are clean and cared for. The added homey touches like the food they provide and the extra activities are great

This was the best KOA we have ever stayed at. It was very clean and well maintained. There were lots of activities to keep our family busy and happy. Most importantly, the staff was very friendly and welcoming. We will be staying here again!

Great location, so close to the park! And the pancakes were great too.
Jul 09, 2021
Great place. Need to enforce 10P.M. quiet time rule though. Both nights I had little sleep because people were loud, slamming car doors, and partying.
Jul 09, 2021
This was our favorite KOA that we ha e ever stayed at!!
Jul 07, 2021
We had a great time staying at the white river/badlands koa. Staff were very friendly, things were very organized and the pancakes were on point. The only negative thing was that there were only two individual bathroom/shower stalls available to campers in the grass pad tent area, which made for long wait times in the area. We would stay again though!

Old and dirty bathrooms, large campground, noisy untill late at night, cars driving on a very dusty road in combination with bugs makes it almost impossible to stay outside Close to Badlands National Park

Loved the pancakes, well kept site with great area for kids to play. The bathrooms were clean and plentiful too .

Nice, clean, quiet campground. Loved that it had a lot of shade!

Loved the location. People were super kind and so friendly. My only issue was the shower flooded and made for an unpleasant experience. Drain just needed to be cleaned. Otherwise, a fantastic stay!

Nicely wooded, staff was friendly, washers and dryers worked well, quiet. Read about this location in a top 10 listicle, and would definitely recommend. Stayed here 4 nights with a travel trailer.

Rating: 4/5 from a KOA Holiday perspective Overall: We stayed 1 night in September 2021 with a 37ft Class A with a tow vehicle. Nice KOA Holiday with many options for RV and camping sites and lots of shade (vs. the Cedar Pass Badlands campground). Overpriced for a 1-night stop for which Cedar Pass may be a better choice, but a great option if you plan to spend multiple nights and enjoy the amenities. Campsite/Campground: The campground was very spacious and overall easy to maneuver. We had some confusion on the way out due to some one-way signs, but cleared driving the wrong way in a one-way with staff and made it out ok :) . Great shade in many sites, especially Jackalope Lane, Prairie Dog Trail, turkey run, Coyote Path, and Hoot Owl Drive. We had site 143 which was a patio site with LOTS of space between sites. Great site if you plan to spend a few days or week, but over priced for a quick stayover as we didn't have time to enjoy the space. Hookups: We had 50A and full hookup site with patio that included a table, chairs and propane grill. Furniture was brand new and in great condition. Hookups were a challenge – they were very far from the rig and we needed to be creative to get the sewer lines connected (see picture). Glad we had extensions! Amenities: The site looked to have great amenities. The breakfast was held in a brand-new pole barn and overall things were well kept, we just didn't have time to enjoy them with a 1-night stay. Service/Staff: Staff was good at check-in. Other: We have stayed at both the KOA and Cedar Pass campground. Cedar Pass has its challenges (from flooding to windstorms). If you are looking to stay between the two, we would suggest that if you have a soft-sided camping unit (tent or pop-up) then the KOA is the best choice to avoid flooding or wind issues. The KOA is also the best place if you are spending more than one night, as it has amenities vs. Cedar Pass which has none other than showers/restrooms. If you have a hard-sided camper and are doing a 1-night stay, Cedar Pass may be a better option with better views.
