bunch of wild plants growing in our tent site 22A and looks like weed killer was sprayed on them, made it ugly. Because of this i had to move the fire pit to a cleaner section of the site. Next morning the resort attendant walk to us and started complaining about moving the fire pit. “I don’t know what made you think you can move fire pit” were his exact words. This was rude.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

It is not rude and it is in the guidelines and common sense that you don't move a fire pit! You moved the pit as you decided to park your vehical on the landscaped tent pad! Another common sense thing NOT to do! Don't blame the host because you got caught having NO camping etiquette whatsoever!!!!!

Campsite 22 - oh my goodness....what a wonderful place Bucksport / Fort Knox KOA is. Friendly and accommodating staff, nice laundry facilities, and the bath house is exceptionally clean. If we ever head back their direction...we will stay there. TN Travelers

Staff was friendly. Bathrooms were clean. Guests did not make noise. The only unfortunate issue was truck noise from nearby US 1. That's probably not an issue for RVs, but it's significant for tenters.

It was not possible to stake into the ground on the tent site (#2). Large gravel or cement are not ideal for tent camping.

Sorry you were unsatisifed with your site. If you would have let us know we could have tried to switch you. This site does have a 16x16 foot platform for your tent that you could have used the eye hooks on side to stake your tent. Next time when unhappy seek help from staff.This could have helped

Super friendly staff, clean bath house, great tent site. If we ever come back to Acadia National Park, we will be staying here again

The site was beautiful and well maintained! Loved the bounce pad as well as the blueberry ice cream.

Paid for a “ deluxe” site. It was not worthy of that designation. No privacy. second rate fire dish. Is very short. Was a tent site because it was small and just changed to calling it an rv site.

Sorry you didnt enjoy your site but you did select a deluxe tent site when you made your online reservation. We would suggest calling the campground the next time to get the site that you are looking for. Happy camping!

Stay was great. Staff was super nice and polite. Always asking if we needed anything. Made the trip alot more relaxing.

I love the patio and patio furniture on the site....that is amazing! Plants near hook up made it look very nice. Pool was exceptionally clean!! My only complaint is nothing anyone can fix....our site #2 was separated from the road by a fence...so during the day the noise was loud at times, but again, not something that can be fixed. The owners are amazing!!!

Friendly and we had a great vacation, only two point to warn about. Only two of their 3 tent camping sites are as advertised, the last one is SMALL. They put our family of 4 on this site for 5 day stay while we watched others come and go on the bigger pads. 1 bathhouse on property (2 toilets for all women in the campground) with tiny showers that are NOT family/kid friendly.

Our web site CLEARLY states that this site is small but YOU selected this site online. For less than $5 you could have selected the large sites but elected not to. You had a large tent and screenhouse. Our bath house is clean and up to state codes and is not advertised as a family style bath house

My tent site was absolutely perfect with a large ent area, a platform for the picnic table and a covered area for grilling. Marlene was an incredible host doing everything possible to make sure my stay was as perfect as it could possibly be. I have already recommended this campground to friends heading to Maine and I will definitely go back!

Marlene made me feel welcome from the time I made the reservation. And then when I arrived she and her staff literally treated me like family. I highly recommend Bucksport/Fort Knox KOA.

Stay was great. Hosts were great. The only thing I didn’t like is. I was tent camping. I had to put my tent in a crushed gravel area. It all stuck to my tent. Not something I wanted to deal with leaving at 5:30a.m.

My boyfriend and I camped here for a two night stay and couldn’t have asked for a better time. Darlene and David were excellent hosts along with the other staff members. The campground was clean and welcoming, everything we could have asked for. Staff members went above and beyond to make our first camping trip memorable. I definitely recommend this location, and we will be back!

Bucksport/Fort Knox was super accommodating to all our needs. Extremely lovely owners who recommended places to go and suggested ways to prepare for our trip to Acadia which less than an hour drive. Bathroom was warm and super clean. Called ahead and had firewood waiting for us at our campsite. Fire pit has a very manageable grate that could fold over. Beautiful view of the stars! Wonderful time!

Crammed everyone in to campsites right next to each other, didn’t even stay the full time we paid for. Also there is a skunk infestation, don’t let people camp if there is rodents.

We are sorry you felt crammed into a 700 square foot tent site. If you would have come to the office and talked to us, we could have tried to help you. There was nobody else next to you either except for the last two days of your stay. You checked out the day you were supposed to. Not early!

It was really nice and convenient to a number of activities with lots to do at the campground as well. Everyone was really helpful and friendly. I definitely will plan to come back!

This is a wonderful campsite. I have gone seasonal this year and my parents, children and cousins have all gotten sites to stay as well. It’s clean and the owners are helpful and very friendly. I highly recommend.

What a lovely find this was! We tented on a back site close to the woods so it felt remote but was very close to facilities. It was very clean, the owners were very nice and helpful and it was quiet at night. Will definitely recommend!!

This was by far and away the best KOA we have ever stayed at. The owners were the most hospitable and so incredibly helpful with their advice. Facilities were awesome and we had a great tent site. I highly recommend the pizza at their onsite snack shop!

Easy to get to, place was immaculate, and folks were super nice! Wish it were closer to Acadia but the extra distance was more than offset by the pleasant stay.

We are here for our first time with a new to us camper. From the welcome at the office to the Easter egg hunt and train ride, this is a great place to stay with family and friends. The pool is nice and bath house clean. You can tell the owners run a place they are proud of. We will be back!
